Cole Cubelic and Gmac were talking about that this morning.
Cole said this is the first big example of where a player is profiting from the helmet and jersey he is wearing. Cole said every QB under Saban has been successful at Alabama so its almost a no lose situation to sign up the next Alabama QB. I think the last 2 Alabama QBs have probably had a lot to do with BY's deal. He should tell Tua and Mac thank you.

I am Glade we flipped Cohen as it seems we have a gotten a new starter out of it.
The Kid seems like he's going to be a good one for us.
That right tackle battle seems to now be a 3 man race?

1.K Randolph
2.George
3.JC Latham

I am not sure Tommy Brown is going to move outside as he been playing inside most of the spring at guard? But he was originally recruited as a tackle. It seems to be Randolph's spot to lose, but both George and latham look like they are gonna make a strong push this fall.

Heard GMac on the radio recently say more people in Alabama can name the starting Alabama QB, than can name the governor.

Was very surprised when he said this, just because he avoids the depth chart talk. Must mean Cohen is pretty good.

So, what does our OL look like?

AjA talked about it above, but presumably, from Left to Right:

Neal, Cohen, Owens, Ekiyor, [OPEN]

My dude said the old OL staff loved Cohen, sounds like that continued with Marrone.

So did we ever get a clear answer on Xavier Williams? Is he in the portal or was it just a mistake by someone?

all I have read, indicates that his social media feeds have contained very critique messages the last few weeks and that is often an indicator someone is leaving.... then again, is could just be a mistake (King is still listed altho clearly in the portal and Bama usually drops them pretty quickly, esp when they need the spots).
But, with the talent in the WR room, he may have seen the writing on the wall, J Williams from osu is getting lots of reps with 1's as are others from the new WR's.. with the talent in the last 2 classes.... WOW...just WOW... he may be looking at finishing his career on the pine and naturally would want to find PT somewhere (has a ring).

Saban either was not asked about it this morning or ???

maybe not but the U of A is giving him the advantage of playing. i wonder if he would be making same money had he taken his talents to Vandy?

Let's be honest, Alabama didn't give him anything. He earned it by working hard to be one of the best recruits in his position.

Which is why our GOAT head coach sought him out to be one of our additions.

If you think players should individually pay, then you have to pay each player individually what the market determines.... which would be catastrophic.

Being bitter kids are earning from their image when the conference as a whole is close to generating almost $800 million yearly is pathetic.

It's the primary reason Saban isn't like Dabo (and some of you) and isn't against player's getting paid.

In fact Saban basically used Bryce Young as a recruiting tool; come to Alabama and play for me at QB and you can earn 7-figures as a teenager.

Other than the platform to make hundreds of thousands of dollars in endorsements before he even takes a meaningful snap. We are one of a handful of programs in the country where that is possible. It does not matter how hyped up of a recruit he was, he's not getting that kind of money at the vast majority of P-5 programs.

Okay and if he didn't work to be one of the best at his position in high school our GOAT wouldn't have went to ask him if he would join Alabama over his other options.

The platform Saban and Alabama have is great; which is why Saban is using it as a selling point.... to get other big time recruits to want to join even more.

This idea these kids should be punished because of bitterness is crazy and anti-Capitalism.

In the end I'm just glad Saban has always supported athletes being able to make money outside instead of being like Dabo.

Yeah it makes perfect sense for X Williams to transfer. He's one of those guys that would start pretty much anywhere except Alabama, Clemson, OSU

Did anybody catch Harsin at media days? My god is he a wind bag. If he talks at his players like this, they will be tuning him out very quickly. He reminded me very much of Butch going into TN job.
