Well if it is, that means there are two teams that could/do stomp a mudhole in LSU's arse whenever they want.

Sounds like a debate we should have with fans from schools who have won something over the last 10 years. So not LSU.

Bama and Clemson are even as far as accomplishments go, but Clemson has a much easier road to the playoff. I’d say if Clemson wins this year there is no debate.

No.

Everyone is ignoring the bigger picture. Next year Bama very likely will have the most complete team in the country.

Clemson's O next year will be elite. I expect our D to be in the 15-25 range. We will take a small step back at LB and a bigger step back at DT. Clemson is probably good enough next year to make the playoffs, but I don't know if they will be the same team as last year.

Clemson has surpassed them.

Last 4 seasons

Clemson 55-4, 4 playoff appearances, 2 national titles.
Alabama 55-4, 4 playoff appearances, 2 national titles.

Clemson/Alabama head to head: 2-2

Clemson may well prove to be better but as of now the two teams are exact carbon copies - and laughably ahead of anyone else in the nation.

It's a bit early to declare Clemson the better program. Urban Meyer and Florida beat Saban a couple of times and we see where their program was a year or two later.

Saban opened his playbook after 2 decades but it's his rotating DCs that is hurting the program.

Dabo and Clemson have shown vulnerability in weak ACC play. I just think he knows how to attack the Bama defense much like Kirby Smart knows how.

It was an even bigger beatdown than 01/09/12, which ended up being a downturn for our program.

lol, no.

Alabama was actually pretty close to Clemson, it was the turnovers and the lack of red zone scoring that made the difference.

Clemson had 482 total yards while Alabama had 443.

Meanwhile, LSU couldn't even finish a drive on their own side of the field in the 21-0 loss. LSU had less than 100 yards of total offense for the entire game.

There will likely NEVER be a beatdown as bad as 21-0 in a national championship game. Even Notre Dame managed to score some points late.

Huh?

What Clemson did was target the shite out of Savion Smith. The majority of their passing yards came against receivers he was defending. 140 of those yards on 2 plays alone.

It's always funny to me how bad off people can be about games. Clemsons offense is what people take away from the game, and yet the actual reason Clemson won and what was most impressive was their...defense.

Having your QB make terrible decisions and throwing the ball up, then getting lucky with helmet bounces, while having the other team turn the ball over 5 times is knowing how to attack the Bama defense?

I can't wait to see everyone apply this blueprint!

The massive turnover in assistant coaches for Bama over the last few years is what really doomed them against Clemson last year. CU's D line was elite, and it look like the assistants coaches for Alabama had not prepared.

It happens, but if Coach Saban fixes that, Alabama has the talent to not only win the title this year, but the next 3 years....

Bottom line, until Coach Saban leaves Alabama, Alabama will be winning titles.

The funniest thing about this thread is how it’s mostly LSU fans discussing how Bama has fallen to #2.

Gotta give it one more season. If they meet again this year, the winner will be considered to have the upper hand.

It is vital that LSU takes that game from them in Tuscaloosa this year; by any means necessary.

Well, not scoring and billboards haven’t worked out so well for LSU...
