Ok so what can we expect from Smith? Will be be better or worse than Moody? About the same?

Obviously an opinion here, but I have been keeping up with NSJ since his freshman year. He is a better offensive player than Moody. Moses has him on the defensive end for sure though. I am ready to see Nick play on a team with other stars. People will knock him for being a ball hog but he really is a great passer and would be more than capable of playing the 1.

Look up the highlights of Sylvan Hills vs Jacksonville from a couple years ago. I love Devo, but Smith was the best player on the court. That was when he caught my eye at least.

Like trying to run game on Tinder but instead of getting laid you get a bunch of high school guys that you then have to develop

If Muss does hit on Walsh and Black, I honestly don't know how you sign that many guys in one class.

The numbers will work but I wouldn't put it past Muss to process someone either

If we land Walsh, that’s 5 in this class and we have 5 seniors departing.

We also have the open spot for this year which I keep forgetting about. So we could take both Black and Walsh or we could just take Walsh and a grad transfer. Or Vanover may transfer and we get all of the above lol

What 17 year old wants to talk to 50 year old dudes every day for a year?? Between all the coaches calling, the recruiting reporters calling and texting, and the random traditional news people calling, why would you even pick up the phone?? It seems most people would just tell them, "I'll call you when I decide, now stop bothering me."

A NEW NO. 1 POINT GUARD IN THE 2022 CLASS?

quote:

This is a conversation that has been had since he came onto the national scene in the summer of 2020. What is Anthony Black’s position? Since his emergence, I have always considered the jumbo versatile prospect as a playmaking wing. However, after moving into five-star status this summer and transferring to Duncanville (Texas) High this fall, Black has made drastic improvements in the areas of handling the ball versus intense pressure and shifting his overall mindset to command the role of initiating an offense. It is because of those improvements why I not only feel he should be labeled as a point guard, but also the best one in the senior class.

To further explain, there is no other lead guard in the class who is 6-foot-7 pushing 6-foot-8, naturally gifted with elite long-term tools, and is loaded with the amount of upside that Black has. He is made of the Shaun Livingston/Penny Hardaway mold and gets better and better as his career continues to progress.

Currently ranked a combo guard right now, he definitely should be in consideration for a positional switch. Arkansas, Georgia, Gonzaga, and Oklahoma State are the programs in the mix to land the potential top ten talent.

Walsh might be the best recruit in this class. He's better than Smith IMO, he could be dominant at the college level especially

Walsh said he's dropping a commitment video the 24th or 25th, hasn't set date.

Most seem to think Arkansas still.

Yeah him having a set date already is an extremely good sign.

I still think Black is a bit of a longshot, but I won't put anything past Muss. Curtis Wilkerson put his prediction at about 50/50 for Black, while he said his conficnece on Walsh is about 80%.

He said Texas is trying to make a push and that would be his prediction if he doesn't go to Arkansas.

McPherson just said Walsh posted on Instagram “it’s that time” so commitment any time now. Nick Smith tweeted ?? so that sounds promising for the good guys as well!

Walsh said last week he is picking his school on the 24th or 25th.

There are rumors it could be as early as tomorrow though.

I think we're in good shape. I'd be surprised if it's Texas.
