Granted, I am reaching here, but there’s always the possibility Prohm has a dream job clause and Alabama is one of the schools listed.

I know, I know, wishful thinking on my part.

Has anyone confirmed that Prohm has a deep desire to come back? I am seriously asking, I just don't ever remember seeing it.

If I'm Prohm I'm not leaving Iowa State for Alabama.

Maybe I’m wrong, but the BBP is on the edge of the cliff right now. And if Avery stays even one more yr it’s going to take a major nosedive.

Buy him out and cut the loses. Be great to find a proven winner (like Saban) that you know can turn the program around before it’s too late.

Sure... Proven winners don’t come cheap. But it beats the hell outta of watching this cluster frick that’s happening now.

Perhaps an appeal to decency can be made to Avery. Surely he is a reasonable man and can understand that the program has nose-dived over the last year, and that he has lost control to the point that players don't play with energy or desire (losing to NS) and the fanbase has boycotted him and the program. Another year would just be painful for everyone, embarrassing to him and harmful to the program. Make an offer to give him the one year buyout plus a portion of the next year's money to do what's best for everybody and walk away.

LOL - Avery is going say fire me and pay me. You can thank Bill Battle for that beauty of a contract.

I think he's definitely coming back. That doesn't make any sense, but the decisions surrounding our basketball program never make sense so I think it fits.

I was just told he's gone (and he's been told he's gone) and it's only a matter of time until it's announced.

Avery’s downfall was his NBA background and philosophy. Be buddy-buddy with your players. If not, a good player than earns 5x your salary can get you fired. He was so afraid of pissing off his best players that he demanded zero respect. In return he got zero respect and the players developed a “DGAS” attitude. He did nothing to correct it.

We need a coach that will put the fear of God in the players eyes if they half-arse a rebound or “lolly gag” around practice and warm-ups.

I hate to be the Bammer that compares CAJ to CNS but could you imagine the constant arse chewings that would have taken place every game if we had a coach with CNS’s mindset and will to win? No doubt most of our gutless wonders would have been in tears.

That is what we need. I would rather have a coach that is not afraid to toss a chair across the court.

nothing will probably top the shame and.... no, that's just it... unbearable and humiliating shame, of losing to fricking UAB.

Is Avery still the coach?

Every moment that passes confirms my nightmare.

I was there!! As a grad. of both I found myself strangely stuck in a seat between a Bama fan and a UAB fan. It was actually a fun game.

And I wish people would just lay off the money shite. Do you have any earthly idea what the athletic department brings in each year? Pay the man handsomely to leave and pay an experience winner handsomely to come in. And build a new freakin’ basketball arena!

Hey I get it on the arena. If we had built it the last time we put lipstick on that pig Coleman, we could have built it for less than $100 million. Not chump change, but very doable. That same arena today will cost you closer to $300 million and probably slightly above that figure. It’s not really a slam dunk project anymore. We’ll have to make do until it’s more feasible. Again, the previous administration fricked up.

He has a better job already and a recruiting pool better than what he will have of he comes to Alabama. The talent in the state of Alabama isn't good enough to take Bama much higher. 13-15 years of depending on state talent has us where we're at along with 3 coaches.

I mean, there is an easy solution there. Recruit in other areas of the Southeast. Recruit in Texas. Recruit junior colleges.

It's not that hard for a guy who knows what he wants.

I doubt it. Just because a contract is iron clad does not mean that the party who wishes to break it is powerless. When has Nick Saban honored a contract with Alabama? He wins a championship and says, "If you want me to hang around, pay me more."

The Board can note that things aren't going well and suggest that everyone leave on good terms with one another. We can make life not so good on Avery should he want to play hardball. Pretty sure that the contract probably notes that Avery has to seek employment and once employment is found, it mitigates against what Alabama has to pay Avery anyway.

Josey, if Prohm was only recruiting Iowa, he’d be in deep shite. He recruits the Midwest AND the Southeast. He’s got several players from the area and some Jucos.

I guess I'm glad that talking head Ryan Fowler doesn't really care about basketball and he's letting his callers bash Avery Johnson one after another.
