More people your age will become bigger fans once they go to college and they will go to games and get hooked. In my case I was a big fan at age 10 because I was bonding with my Dad who would take me to games. Anyway, as far as the future of the sport, it is the over 30 age group that advertisers love the most because they are the biggest consumers of products because people over 30 tend to make more money. The future of the sport is just fine and has been growing and making more and more money my whole life. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. A bigger threat to the sport is all of the rule changes which one day may very well make the sport unrecognizable and/or the intellectual aspects of the University who have always felt it is a distraction, might decide to get rid of it all together at many schools.

I’m in law school, so I’m around people in the approximately 22-27 year old age range every single day. I can assure you, a lot of people at that age love college football. Even in the law school environment, where you are always stressed and always studying, I hear people talking college football or wearing their school’s gear.
I don’t basing the overall population’s interest in college football on the interest of current high school students works. High school kids are always distracted by other things, many will become more interested when they go to college.

College football is not as popular as it used to be among young people. I’m a high school sophomore. I live in Georgia. At my school, the only thing people care about it the NBA, if they care about sports at all.
When I was in high school there was interest in high school sports mostly.

Only if you live in a major city, but I live close to Orlando, and there is very little talk about the Magic.

It makes me sad. I know it was way more popular during the 90s. Makes me wonder if college football will exist when I’m fifty.
It is funny that people say that college football is not that popular. People will point out that the attendance at the games have dropped, lower the ticket prices and see if that does not change

with good reason. I know folks in the great state of Mississippi right now who had their 7 or 8 year old play tackle football this fall. Why? "Cause he's big" of course!
When somebody says that, you can't argue. Of course you can, but you're wasting your time. That's not to say that they're stupid because Daddy is an engineer from Mississippi State . Seriously though, football is engrained in some so deep that they completely disregard the warnings.
My boy will never play football while his brain is developing. I just don't think the risk is worth it when he has his entire life to live. If he happens to be an extraordinary athlete while playing other sports like basketball, soccer, or baseball, I'd consider letting him play football in high school, but that's only if he really wants to. And, at that point, it's kind of silly considering he'd have to go back to basics to learn how to properly hit and where to keep his head and such while the other kids already know.
I'm sure high school football still has a bunch of freshmen who were asked to come out to tryouts because of their size but have never played a down of football, right?

I actually think he's fairly accurate about young people..
I mean teens.
I also think it still depends upon location.
The younger sports fans I know still don't care much for college, they will watch it.. but they hardly even know the players.. many just follow fantasy football and the NBA.

do you realize that lowering the price of a ticket happens because demand is down? Literally, there's no other reason.

fantasy football is obvious
The NBA is easy to follow. You literally don't have to watch any games to stay on top of it.
Inner city kids who grew up in the 90s (with or without a team) learned about NBA before any other sport. Plus, there was MJ and then Kobe and Shaq right after that. Do you remember SI for kids? Those were very popular when I was a kid and the magazines were mostly NBA highlights and cards. That's how I remember it anyway.

if you go to a college that has a decent football team, you will most likely start watching college football.

People have been bitching about injuries in Football since the game which inspired it was invented in England. The Pope tried to ban in in the 1500s (iirc) and yet here it is. It's not going away.

Are you 16 years old? I never said middle aged people don’t like College.
Then when you get older, you'll love CFB and (specifically UGA) and the days of video games and gushing over the NBA will fall to the wayside.
In other words, GROW UP!

Over 47 Million people attended college football games in 2017. The 2018 figures are yet to be released.
In 2017 the SEC led the nation with an average attendance of over 75,000 per game.
Dude...come on

More people watched the League of Legends World Championship than watched the College Football National Championship.
More people will watch a Fortnite stream than will watch a college football game in 2019.
College football, and other sports media is in for a world of hurt fairly soon. College football is uniquely positioned to weather the storm because there are 130 teams and there is a vast amount of infrastructure in place, from flexible out of conference scheduling to bowl games.
Unfortutunately, college football will undermine itself. It will expand the playoff to 8, undermine the non-playoff bowl games even further, minimize the G5 and diminish out of conference scheduling.

I'm between various parts of the Eastern hemisphere right now and have been for a while(Europe/ME/Asia) and I would have to disagree. Only other Americans for the most part give a shite.
