Do y’all believe the 4 team “playoff” is fair and equitable for all stakeholders or does it need to be fixed? I’ll hang up and listen.

Fair, maybe?
But I also think they’ve gotten the top 4 teams right every year so far and until they screw up I’m not going to complain about it.

I think that the best team in CFB has been invited to the 4 team playoff every year so far.
I wouldnt mind giving a non-P5 team a shot if the 4th spot is down to very flawed teams and the non-P5 team is a top 5/6 teams by all the advanced metrics.

No it should just be 2 teams.
I don't like this at all.

Yes. It's been fair.
Do you think otherwise?

That's the system you agreed to play under.

Let me guess. You think your team should be in it. If teams like Central Florida and Boise St. are ever invited to the 4 team playoff then there goes all the incentive for a Power 5 teams to schedule tough OOC games in order to enhance their resumes. Why take the chance when you can take the easy way out like your team does? I know Central Florida is good. I know they can't help their schedule. I know they beat Auburn last year and they may well beat LSU later this month. But programs like Central Florida and Boise St. have no idea how difficult it is to play week after week in a Power 5 conference. It's a totally different world from they're used to and there's no way of knowing how they'd fare in a full season of the SEC or the Big Ten.

I like it more than the BCS but it still has flaws. If it went to 8 teams I'd be ok with it but that would have to be the max

The current system is completely fair.
The only issue is some sort of delusion that a Group of Five team can or should make it.
As a Group of Five program you aren’t playing for the playoffs, you are playing to be the first team upgraded to Power 5 status during the next realignment so THEN you can play for the playoffs.

yep, I agree with DOT that they've gotten right every year so I don't see what there is to complain about.
In the case of someone like UCF, you really don't have any room to complain. If you want to be taken more seriously play a schedule where the hardest team isn't memphis. Back when BOise was still up and coming like UCF is now but didn't really register as being an actual contender, they played UGA, Oregon State, Washington, Oregon, VaTech, Michigan state, etc.

If Mizzou played you’re schedule we’d be 13-0
We beat Memphis by 32...

Does not seem fair. OU has no business in the playoffs. They are 14 point dogs to Bama. They would be 10 pt underdogs to Ohio St, UGA, etc...
Something needs to be fixed.

I think it's sad that whoever your athletics director was when the '17 and '18 seasons were scheduled had no faith that their team would be competitive. As a result they arranged a pretty pathetic schedule. If they had scheduled and won at least one game against a good team with a pulse a whole lot more non-UCF fans would be behind you guys. Instead, you only get a handful of fans across the nation and airtime from "experts" trying to stir the pot for ratings.
Also, I think you guys would have been better off not pushing the "we beat Auburn" (in a letdown game for them) as making you in any way worthy of being even a MNC team. At least you would have my sympathy vote...and all that's worth ($0)

I will say I would not have been opposed to one of those Boise teams of the 2010-2012 era making a 4 team playoff - especially the years they hammered Georgia in Atlanta or beat Virginia Tech in DMV.
They were in the top 4 metric wise, had a win over a good P5 team basically on the road and hammered everyone in a decent league. And it was proven out based on the number of NFL guys those teams had. They would have competed.

I think everyone gets lost in the top 4 teams talk. With the BCS we tried to get the top 2 and occasionally there was 1 or 2 who were left out and had a legitimate gripe. With the current system, maybe someone can argue that they were one of the top 4 but it is harder to argue that they were one of the top 2.
There is no way UCF is one of the top 2 teams, so after that I don't care if you think you should be one of the top 4 as there will always be a questions at the edges.

We all agree it needs to be expanded but they’ve gotten it right so far although I think Georgia is one of the four best teams just can’t put a two loss non conf champion over a one loss conf champion.

BCS wasn't fair. 4 team gayoffs isn't fair. But trust me guys, an 8 team gayoff would be fair. Trust me. For real this time!

We haven’t won 12 games, we’ve won 25 in a row and the AAC is 6-2 v P5 this season. #ChargeOn
