I get what your saying but you are still in CMR shellshock ...19 and 20 we will really should have the team that many have wanted...we shall see how it plays out

A lot can happen, injuries, etc. Very very hard to guarantee anything in college football - especially in the sec.

Depth concerns will still be DL and DB.
But outside of that, we will be deeper, more talented, and more experienced everywhere else on the field.
We survived a rash of injuries on the OL (yes, that was our 4th string RG holding his own against Williams).

Georgia could have God recruiting for Georgia and Kirby would still find a way to screw it up.
Kirby is great recruiter, great defensive coordinator - when supervised, below average coach.

Or...
By 2021, you could have a bunch of eggs and still no chickens.

All I'm saying is alabama probably had one of their most talented teams ever in 2010 - injuries and a host of other issues resulted in a 3 loss season.
Predictions are tough in college football - every championship season needs some lucky breaks falling your way.

The data actually shows Richt did a better job with his lower ranked recruits than Kirby is doing with his higher ranked recruits.

I think it’s probably misplaced for a Bama fan to be giving insight or advice to a UGA fan....no matter the good intention it’s wasted energy...if you understand where I’m coming from....

Nope. But replacing a guy like Tucker and who knows who else, replacing players like Baker or some of the others..these things aren’t guaranteed and it doesn’t always even point to coaching deficiencies. Very little room for error just to even get the chance to play in games like we did last weekend.

Or we could be the team that ends the tide dynasty We are trending upward....it’s completely possible....I mean hell....you could get hit by a bus tomorrow....

Good to know...many are...it’s more probable that we are improving ..not regressing....try not to stress it brother...cheers

Yea, you should continue to have good teams and we'll probably keep playing each-other.
We'll keep showing up, though, I guess.

Richt’s recruits aren’t the problem.
When Kirby Smart is intelligent enough not to call a fake punt on 4th and 11 late in the 4th quarter with the game on the line while trotting his second string QB on the field (who hadn’t done anthing up to that point in the game except lose yards) and Bama D remained on the field, then, and only then, will Georgia possibly be able to win a national championship.

some of y'all seem to have convinced yourselves that Richt was Butch Jones-level awful.
Only the lunatics, most of us rational thinkers appreciate what he did and when he left us you can easily make a case he was the best coach we've ever had.
With that said, there is a very clear dichotomy in his tenure from early days to late days. 02-08 was mighty fine, and probably one of the best stretch runs we've had in our history if I had to guess. 09 was mediocre and 10 was downright atrocious. 11 was mediocre, 12 was one last gasp at being great, 13 was mediocre (although that was primarily due to injuries), 14 was alright, and 15 was downright bad.
The last few years of richt barely even resembled the 02-05 era richt.
So yes he DID do some fantastic things for us but people hating on richt solely for the last years of his tenure aren't too terribly far off base.

replacing players like Baker
Stokes slides right in where Baker left off.
Campbell will be in his sophomore year. The hope is that he learns to turn his head this bowl season.
We have OLBs to replace Walker.
We have DTs to replace Ledbetter.
The defense should start the season at a much higher level than we started this season.
And there is no reason whatsoever to worry about offensively unless every junior goes pro.

I'm all for beign optimistic but that's simply not very realistic. Baker could make a case for being a top 3-4 CB we've ever had in school history, a current TFr who has seen meaningful time in about 5-6 games isn't just going to replace him without missing a beat.
Wtih that said I do like our CB situation all things considered. You have to assume campbell will make natural progression, Stokes does look very good, and we still haven't really seen much out of Webb yet.

The irony here is how many times you said kirby. Talent will be there, can Kirby get it done when it matters?
