Some of our alums, too, but a much larger proportion of the no-college, no-armed service, just plain ole finished high school and loved Bammer fans. They are the ones who walk up to somebody at the gas station with an Auburn hat on and start talking shite.
I think almost every school can say this. Although, Auburn students are likely to behave similarly in my experience.

If you just want to cheer for a team out of sheer fanhood, watch the NFL.
Are you saying that all the fans that attend TAMU games or cheer for them are alumni?

Please define what a “sidewalk fan” is.

TLDR: Alabama is a flyover trashpile with nothing going for it other than 18-22 year olds playing football.

But isn't that a contradiction in itself? Being a fake fan? Bandwagoning to another school just because they are winning? In other words, if your not a real fan and haven't been since day one? You certainly don't have my respect. I'm certainly not going to jump ship and be a fake arse bitch to like a team just because they are winning. Dallas cowboy fans are guilty of this, instant fans, just add water. When they win they claim they are Super Bowl bound lol....but they lose they go into hiding.

It's something for Louisiana sports fans to be butt-hurt about because their teams have not done much in the last 50 years or so.
Like a Super Bowl, a couple of CFB championships, and several CWS championships?
Jelly much?

I graduated from A&M, thus giving me the right for cheer as an alumni. Did you attend Alabama?

Humor me. Let’s pretend it’s not obvious. I would really love to hear what your thoughts were on this matter.

There is no NFL team in Alabama, dumbass. I don't care for any of the teams particularly in my area. In a state like Alabama, our "pro teams" are Alabama or Auburn.
Hypothetical situation: let's say someone grows up a huge LSU fan in Louisiana, and then after high school they wind up going to Alabama. In your opinion (which I hold in absolutely no regard, just to make that clear), is this person allowed to still be an LSU fan? Let's say this person has no emotional attachment to Alabama, and still feels strongly as an LSU fan. Should they have loyalty to the team they've always been a fan of, or simply only loyalty to this new event (attending this particular school)?

He should have gone to LSU. It's completely asinine to attend one school and cheer for the other. And you live close enough to the Atlanta Falcons if you want to be a bandwagon fan with no real affiliation to a school.
You didn't answer my question. Where did you attend college?

never and will never understand the whole “sidewalk fan” bullshite. It’s makes zero difference if someone actually attended the school or not. If only people that went to the schools could root for that team then college football would die. It makes no sense at all. I know many of people that never attended LSU but are the biggest diehard fans that are season ticket holders every year.
This I agree with as I live outside the state and at times find it humorous that UA alum that are big football fans feel they are above those that did not attend. In NC there are 2 alumni associations. The majority in both never attended UA and with a good protion actually from the state. As with the UA Alumni Assoc. you do not have to be an alumni.
I have probably attended more UA games then the majority of UA fans I have met in person. And to be honest the majority of UA fans I have met that are the nicest are the ones from AL that did not attend. Here in NC and other places some of the friendliest people I have met but some of the alum I have met during the Saban era are the worst especially with trash talking.

More than welcome to watch, but know that you're are second tier to the actual alumni
