But Alabama football is intrinsically tied to our state. We don’t have a major professional franchise so College football is the main sports following and considering how good Bama has been, it makes sense that the people of our state (alumni or not) would want to participate in the success. I don’t see why us being the main sports hub for our state is something to be embarrassed about, I think it’s pretty badarse.

It might be a little over the top but then again, the Aggies can make people do crazy shite.

A lot of our sidewalk fans are annoying as shite and act as if they are personally special in some way because they root for Alabama football.

Some of our alums, too, but a much larger proportion of the no-college, no-armed service, just plain ole finished high school and loved Bammer fans. They are the ones who walk up to somebody at the gas station with an Auburn hat on and start talking shite.

They suck.

Anybody who puts too much emphasis on a game played by college students is a complete douche, whether they attended the school or not. And that goes for all schools

that's not the part you should be embarrassed about. it's the murders, sexual assaults, and tree poisonings done in the name of Alabama football part.

LOL we're gonna stick a corncob up your arse and win by 50.

Really a win-win for both of us if you think about it.

They aren't bandwagon fans, though. I mean those exist too, mostly outside of the state of Alabama.

These people have been Bammers for 75 years. It's not like the rednecks stopped being annoying about Alabama in 1997 or something. Anybody who lived in the state knows that's not true. If anything they became more obnoxious when we were awful.

In my LSU law school class we had 2 Alabama alums. One is a great guy, great college football fan, and overall a fun and good natured human being who i still keep in touch with. The other was an absolute clown who wore Bama gear to class and acted exactly like you said, personally special in some way bc he was an a Alabama fan. he came to the 1L lottery for LSU tickets wearing Alabama gear and talking shite. And then wondered why he had trouble making friends, he transferred out after 1L year.

it was an perfect microcosm of the Alabama fanbase.

Yep - that guy owned a Got Shula? shirt and was happy we were signing 3-stars who "loved Bama" in 2004. He knew Shula was the man for the job and that we were a "classuh progrum".

But he sure didn't decide he was an Auburn or Southern Cal fan in 2003 because we were bad, I can guarantee that.

So you're talking about a fraction of one percent? For every Harvey Updyke out there, you have about 1,000,000 people who are nothing like him at all. I guarantee you that ratio is a lot lower in Europe where crazed soccer fans run roughshod over rival fans.

Let me ask you this, how do you feel about Arabs living in this country?

It's something for Louisiana sports fans to be butt-hurt about because their teams have not done much in the last 50 years or so.

This is an advanced one - could get a 1-2 knock out depending on the answers.
