"I won't. A lot of dudes like to hush up. I have a friend who's very loud, but he lets people change who he is because he's intimidated of what they're going to think or going to say," he says. "For me? I will be taking a knee every game in high school this season."

"My school, they frown upon it. They don't want us doing it," says Thibodeaux, who says that he probably won't be taking a knee to call attention to racial inequality and police brutality during the national anthem in college.

But right now?

"Quite frankly, [my school] can't stop me from doing it. I won't be stopped. I won't let them tell me that I can't express my rights because I go on the field and I risk my life every time I go. Just to sell a ticket," he says. "College? NFL? They make millions. But I go to sell tickets. For me, I just want to show that nothing will change who I am."

I'm fine with it. Let him have his High School fun, he won't get to do it here if we land him because college teams aren't on the field during the anthem, so as far as I'm concerned it won't matter to us. Let's just go get this kid, he's gonna be a beast

I have no problem with an American exercising his rights.

Saban doesn't like players calling attention to themselves.
Sounds like he doesnt like to take directions from anyone.
Good luck with his life.

Media is the one that draws attention to it. Kaep sit on the bench the entire previous season before they noticed him lol.

Good. There's nothing wrong with leaders of a community peacefully protesting police brutality and racism.

I might be remembering this wrong, but I thought he said this in the spring or early summer and then back tracked after a few days and said he would be standing.

Shaft I'm curious what prompted you to drop this thread today?

Relatively speaking this article is old and the topic was discussed previously a good bit in the recruiting thread when the article was published.

I'm not trying to squash conversation, I think this is a good topic, just suprised it has kind of come up out the blue again.

Anyway I've never been concerned about kneeling during the anthem, but I am interested to see if more college players began to do it now that there has been no real resolution in the NFL.

In this article he said he would stand in college unless I misread it. He also said it on twitter after it was published. He still said he plans to kneel in High School.

I don't generally disagree and really don't give a crap what the kid does.

But IMO it's not really a protest and it's kind of dumb. I think it's mostly just so they can feel better about themselves and pretend like they are doing something.

The reality is, it's not accomplishing anything, nor is it going to.

This was my first time reading this and hearing about it. I must've skipped over in the recruiting thread. I thought it would be of interest to the board because this concerns a recruit we are in pursuit.

I think the kneeling isn't about police brutality nor racism or anything of the sort. I really think it's a leftist effort to destroy football.
