But IMO it's not really a protest and it's kind of dumb.

There are certainly other and better ways to go about it, but that's also the same exact thing that was told to MLK so

I know what the players have said but their actions say something else in my opinion.

I'm the type of person that I don't care how anyone protests as long as it doesn't effect me. Kneel if you want, I just wish I could watch football without protests or politics. I hate political commercials coming on during games. I don't want to see Republicans or Democrats. I just want football and stupid chip commercials and deodorant commercials

Don't compare these players to MLK. MLK was explicit about why he protested. These players have given a myriad of reasons for kneeling. Furthermore, these players have the money and influence to get lobbyists to push laws they'd like to see come to fruition. This is no longer the 1950s. Black folks are free.

MLK protested a number of different issues and the individuals around him also had varying reasons to protest that were not always exactly in line with what Dr. King thought. I don’t think lack of conciseness or some inconsistency in message is a good argument against the protest. The primary message has been policy brutality and racism.

In regards to the football players, while not all, many do put money into the causes they represent Kaep being the most important relative to this topic.

Black people were free in the 1950’s, protest were needed to move towards equality which is still lacking in a number of spaces.

Would still love to have him. He may earn a few snaps behind Anoma next year.

When will someone take a knee in protest of all these illegal wars our government has shipped people off to die in for the last 60 years? Police brutality

There are plenty of people who protest our wars. I don’t see why one issue has to be trivialized because you feel another is more important. It just so happens issues of police brutality and racism hit closer to home to these athletes than our military in tanglements.

Yeah totally. We have other problems so police forces being systematically racist and having a history of unjust killings of black men is fricking hilarious.

I must be ignorant of these spaces but what spaces lack equality? That a serious question I’m not trying to be condescending.

Well for starters: interactions with the justice system, de facto segregation and educational opportunities.

Saying kneeling is part of the leftist agenda to destroy football isn't funny to you?

Seeing as they have destroyed news media it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I do know it's certainly not for "police brutality."

That's even funnier.
