he's famous because of his kids. shitty QB

He was a remarkable athlete and a prototype of the elusive, speedy, hard running passer that every team in the SEC would give a left testicle to have running their offense. Particularly LSU.

I don't get the Archie hate. People here fault him for supporting his sons and advancing their careers? You wouldn't do the same for your sons?

Clean up your Dad' brains as a sophomore in college to keep your Ma and sister from having to see the gore of his suicide and man up a month later to attend classes, make the grades and excell in a tough football conference and get back with me about character and the like.

Yeah that was harsh...I would be more gracious if Archie and his clan weren't such anti-Bama Saban haters......I'm sorry but they are really kind of dicks in that regard.

No offense to you personally but I just find him disingenuous.

Dak wasn’t even the best QB in the state of MS when he was in college

Remember when all those rebels told us that Chad Kelly would be starting for Denver this year?

I guess it could happen

Who was? The 3rd string on the Broncos or the Cowboys starting QB?

Vecch - Dak has done great with the Cowboys, but lets not act like he's competing with anybody on that roster that has an ounce of talent.

Dallas Qbs on roster
Dak
Cooper Rush?
Mike White?
Dalton Sturm?

I disagree with you. He's also a pretty upstanding man.

His kids on the other hand...

I enjoyed in the Manning documentary when they went on and on about Archie playing with a broken arm in the Gator Bowl and how awesome he was, then just moved on without mentioning the final score of the game.

Also happened in the 1970 LSU game, which the Tigers won 61-17.

Still, Ole Miss beat LSU two of his three years there so I can't say too much.

As a Saints fan, I can say all the talk about how he was dragged down by bad teams is a bunch of clueless drivel. He never even came close to lifting that team above the morass. He had a great season in '78 and another good one in '79, but outside of that, he was incredibly overrated.

The presence of Drew Brees finally showed those of us who are Saints fans what a great NFL quarterback looked like.

His best game still lost to the worst Alabama team under Bryant.

He scored 32 points in 1969...and lost. How many teams do you think scored over 30 points in the SEC and lost in the 1960's?

Say he was at Alabama with his record he would have been Bryant's worst or 2nd worst qb.

If he'd played for Bama...his record would have been significantly better.

Context. Passing stats in the early 70s in college FB were mostly terrible.

Teams were still running the Veer and shite.
