He would've wrecked shite in Gus' offense.

He can pass awesome vs the Mercer’s of the world, but his passer ratings in many games is not good, especially when taking the talent surrounding him into account.

Passing? 148 yards a game is big numbers?

You probably don't know this but Jalen didn't finish well over half of the games and sat at least 3 or 4 by the middle of the 3rd qtr. A few others he didn't play the 4th qtr.

Didn't play the 2nd half of another couple of blowouts.. I'm sure 7SU fans have no idea what that's like lol.

last year against ranked opponents (at time of the game):
FSU: 10/18 96 yards 1 TD, played the whole game
LSU: 11/24 183 yards 1 TD, played the whole game
Auburn: 12/22 112 yards 1 TD, played the whole game
Clemson: 16/24 120 yards 2 TD, played the whole game
UGA: 3/8 21 yards, benched at halftime

Care to elaborate on the big games he had passing against good opponents?

He's a good athlete but not a good QB

He's a great athlete and like Kamara at UT he has no business standing on the sideline. If he's determined to be a QB he needs to transfer.... if not find a place where he can be on the field.

He's a mediocre at best thrower of the football.

At best.

Hurts hasn’t improved in two years. I think the world of Jalen...but he simply cannot make the correct split second QB decisions that we need to be an efficient offense.

The two games we lost were clearly on him. His inability to generate first downs against Clemson wore our defense down in the second half. And he was just bad against AU.

The body language of Bama’s offense in in each half was startling. That should let you know who the team feels is the best QB option.

I understand if some Bama fans are salty about this issue, especially considering Hurts's freshman year.

Obviously Jalen Hurts isn't bad. He can come play at LSU if he wants. We don't exactly have that position "locked up"

But you can't deny the difference that Tagovailoa made to that offense. It wasn't night and day, but it made Georgia have to defend so much more of the field. And that's not even counting the part where he made the crazy throws he did.

Small sample size obviously, but Tagovailoa just seemed like the better quarterback.

I'd take Jake Coker over Hurts any day of the week. Seriously.

There’s 5 Bama posters worth listening to. You’re not one of them.

Jalen is an awesome individual and excellent athlete.
The problem is not that he cannot throw, it is that he doesn't see the open receiver or throw on time quickly enough. His first instinct is to tuck and run the ball rather than passing or handing the ball to very capable running backs. His tendency to run first has been exploited by other defenses and cause too many three and outs and has strained the Alabama defense.
If Alabama didn't have Tua there would be no question Jalen would be the starter but the team must come first. Tua is the better quarterback because he offers so many challenges to defensive players.

I wouldn't say it's his first instinct.

But he'll know exactly what play is being run and exactly what his first read is. The play will develop perfectly and his receiver will have 2 steps on the DB and Hurts just won't pull the trigger.

THEN he runs.

Been a Bama fan forever. Jalen is a horrific passer. Fade back and haul arse is his motto.

Hurts completion % is about the same as Dak in college

Dak over 4 years was 62.8% Yard avg 8.0
Hurts over 2 years is 61.9% Yard avg 7.6

Hurts had much better offensive talent on his team than Dak

How many of Dak's completions were on jet sweeps and bubble screens?

There's no way on God's green earth that Hurts' completion % on passes that actually crossed the line of scrimmage was as high as Dak's. Probably not even close.
