re: All this Announcement talk

“And then a concerned poster told them to…stop that shite, and forever after there was no more speculation on the coaching changes board, only facts.”
This is what do now right?
Just keep firing and downgrading.
Maybe tomorrow after we fire him we can talk about how liberal he was and how the national media just wanted us to hire him and pushes the narrative that we are a train wreck.
All paving the way for us to rise like a Phoenix in 2026:
Will Wade as AD and head football coach.
Print the shirts.

I don't think LSU makes quarter-zips small enough for Coach Freeman
He isn't.
And there is no point.
It's all ridiculous.
But ridiculous seems to be what we are doing these days.

I don't know a single thing about offensive line blocking technique or offensive line coaching.
But I know I can watch LSU play football and I'm on season 2 of being able to stand with strangers and make jokes about knowing that inside zone is the next running play and then it happens.
We run two running plays from two formations.
I think Joe Sloan is a QB guru who doesn't know how to create a running game to compliment his passing attack that has any coherence or plan to keep a defense off-balance and to attack them in a dynamic way.
I think Brad Davis is probably not the best O-Line coach for technique, but I think that is vastly outpaced by the reality that our running plays seem tacked on by a guy who doesn't do running plays.

"Let it play out"
quote:
It just says that they assisted the archdiocese with PR relations and damage control in the wake of the sex scandal as the names of all credibly-accused priests were released to the public. Is that a crime?
It's not a crime. Why does it have to be a crime?
Why would anyone want the Saints to help with that?
Seriously, why would any sane thinking human being, let alone Saints fan want their football team to help the Catholic church put a positive spin on their long running track record of covering for child rapists?
Maybe the Catholic Church deserves bad PR, for a long time.
Hit job...what a joke.
LSU would be undefeated against Tulane’s schedule.
This wouldn’t make them any better, it would just make them play in the AAC, which is a different and vastly inferior level of week to week football.
Tulane is ranked because being ranked people just refuse to accept that a team can be 9-2 and still not be as good as a 7-4 team because they get to play Charlotte and Navy and Temple and SLU.
And because rankings have been an irrelevant participation trophy for everyone outside of the top 10 for our entire lives until this year.
Tulane got absolutely worked at home by Memphis. They have three losses this year to the only three schools they have played that…play football.
The people who think Tulane would kill LSU are the same people who think Boise should get a bye in the playoff.
Just stop with Tulane.

Everybody has this boner for Tulane.
You know their biggest win is against Navy right?
They lost to both schools they played that…you know… where football is a thing?
Nussmeier would win the damn Heisman against Tulane’s schedule.
Eff Tulane.

If and when we beat Bama I will be hammered and will do whatever the moment and a gallon of bourbon suggest I should do.
That will have to be good enough for you, your quarter-zip, and your delicate sensibilities.

The AARP energy in this thread is strong.
Garth Brooks endorses Trump tomorrow and Callin’ Baton Rouge becomes half of the Rant’s favorite song.
Normal people thought the energy in the stadium last night was great and the OP has a decent point.
Beats the livin crap out of the Swamp’s Tom Petty circle jerk.

re: Why did Major Applewhite not go to LSU?

He was a Bama fan.
He was never going to LSU.
John Mackovic did a good job recruiting him and Texas is a good school.
Catholic did not steer guys to LSU in the mid 90’s.
Simple as that.

It’s miserable in that stadium. Nobody wants to sit in there.
The ridiculous thing is that this game would ever be a 2:30 kickoff.

you're right.
Running the I-formation will really make us tough to scheme against.

The answer is...
Because they aren't baby back bi**hes.
If you don't think you are a good enough coach to keep the ball rolling at Alabama after Nick Saban leaves, then you aren't much of a competitor.
You're right about the drawbacks, but a lot of guys want that job.

Nick would not have retired after 17 seasons at Bama at this moment to go home and chill unless they were ready to replace him…at this moment.
And the likelihood that they are going to replace him with anyone other than Dan Lanning in this scenario, at this moment, is pretty slim.

You would lose your money.
Excellent work.
