With the Andy Cannizzo ordeal, who would you hire?

MSU will have the top college baseball stadium finished for next season. That can't hurt recruitig. Any coach knows Msu loves their baseball and has the fans.
Cohen will obviously hire a new HC as baseball is his baby. Played for Msu, was an assist coach at Msu before taking a head coaching job at Ky where he won the Sec title. He came back to Msu and won the conference title and also took us to a natty game. It's his baby. Who you think he will go after in July?
Any names out there you can think of? I think it will be someone young that is an upcoming coach. That's what Msu seems to do in these situations. Although I would not be surprised to see some big money dish out for a big name coach. Our alum would donate whatever needed. And please don't say Ron Polk because I know someone can't wait to post that lol.

Ron Polk is one of most overrated coaches. Quite frankly he's a big reason we're in this mess in the first place. Screw him. He couldn't win the National Championship with the most talented players in 1985 when no one else in the SEC cared about baseball. And he never won the SEC after 1989, when competition kicked in.
I regret losing John Cohen as the baseball coach. We were on a good streak.

Now that all the Cannizaro drama has died down, I understand that Cohen already has someone who's a front-runner for the job. His name is Randy Cannoli, out of Little Italy, NY:
Don't know much about him, though.....

Any chance they look at Dan Heefner from Dallas Baptist?

Dumb post of the year. Ron Polk took a freaking Ga Southern team to the CWS. And after he retired from Msu Georgia baseball was a mess and they hired him to fix chit and within 2 years took them to the CWS.
As far as Msu goes, Polk spent too much time fighting the Ncaa instead of recruiting. I give you that. He did the dirty work for not only the Sec but college baseball when the Ncaa tried to kill it. Do some homework and get back to me. You know nothing.
It's true he fcked MSU up in later years but he was spent and his passion became battling the Ncaa who were trying to destroy college baseball because it was not generating revenue. You need a history lesson. If not for Polk, college baseball might not be what it is today mr know it all.

Just surprised Cohen is not getting more flack for his hiring of AC in the first place. He literally had no college baseball resume' beyond his 2 ys as a hitting coach at LSU. He got a lot of prop for his recruiting success but then it is fair to assume a lot of that success came from the LSU letters on his uniform.

I expect it to be Mingione(sp) if Kentucky has another good year but you never know.

I hope we throw big money at Tim Corbin

Rafael Palmeiro as hitting coach
Bobby Thigpen as pitching coach
Justin Verlander associate pitching coach
Derek Jeter as head coach
Kate Upton as recruiting coordinator and batgirl trainer

Yep, Tim Corbin would definitely consider leaving a school with 25+ scholarships to go to one with 11.7.

As long as there are no other pics of him floating around (if you know what I mean)
Looks like a fantastic hire

MSU should hire Will Clark as head coach. He can bring in Palmeiro to be the hitting coach/ Asst head coach.

They ought to be able to attract a sitting head coach with the new and improved stadium.
Depends on if Cohen wants to stay within his coaching tree or branch out again.
It's risky looking for that assistant - I think Cannizaro was an outlier and a can't miss to be a really good head coach but it's not easy trying to find an assistant that is ready for a big time job.
Schlossnagle would be a good one to go after, better facilities than TCU and since the TCU AD left you could maybe get him out of there.
That would probably be my first call. He's got a lifetime deal at TCU though and is paid well.

Lots of MSU folk want Cohen to throw the checkbook at him.
Jay Johnson from 'Zona is another name that people tell me to watch
