WJOX removed the OD from their website. Sounds like they were cancelled.
Long overdue. It was a terrible show that coasted for years because of it's time slot. I hate that the Roundtable is moving though. Great show to listen to during the middle of the day while in the office.

It's really quite amazing it held on as long as it did.

nope. Show is moving to 6am to 10am. Will be replayed from 10am to 2pm.
There will be new show for 10am to 2pm soon.
so nothing is changing, just moving time around.

So anyone know the new schedule line up?

I imagine the morning drive time slot gave their show a pretty high floor that naturally carried them longer than they should. Barker still has a following because he was the biggest Alabama football figure for nearly 2 decades.
It was such a lame show and most of the time those guys really phoned it in. Barker would be on vacation half the time and Tony's schtick has been old for decades.
I guess some contracts were up and WJOX realized they missing out on a lot value in the morning.

This is the truth. Jay was always gone, but even when he was there I don't think he cared very much. Tony just tried to act like a college frat boy. Couldn't stand listening to him.

WJOX 94.5 management confirmed to AL.com on Wednesday that "The Opening Drive" will no longer air on the Birmingham-area radio station.
General manager David Walls said "The Roundtable" will move from mid-day to the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. time slot, starting on March 5.
Lance Taylor, Ryan Brown and Jim Dunaway will bring you their same style show, just a bit earlier.
"I believe it is one of the best sports shows in the Southeast, and we wanted to put it in our most desirable (time slot,)" Walls said. "We wanted to start our day with our strongest show."
WJOX first announced the news on Twitter earlier in the day.
"Starting Monday, March 5, the Jox Roundtable will start at 6 a.m.," the tweet read.
However, there was no mention of the future of "The Opening Drive" with Jay Barker, Al Del Greco and Tony Kurre.

"They will no longer be with us," Wall said. "We're going to move in a new direction."
When asked if there was any thought to moving the show to a different time slot or retaining any of "The Opening Drive" on-air personalities, Wall said, "No."
"I talked to them this morning," he said. "Those guys are class acts. They are great guys. Obviously, they took it well, but they wanted to be here. They are really class guys."
For the next two days, listeners will hear CBS Sports programming in the morning time slot.
The "Jox Roundtable" will debut at 6 a.m. on March 5, and then be replayed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for about three weeks before JOX unveils a new show.
"Mid to late March there will be new programming," Walls said.
The general manager added that the response to the news has been good.
"Very positive," he said. "It is a very popular show. People are excited to get it in the mornings.
"It is something I have looked out for 2 1/2 years. As things progressed and 'The Roundtable' got more and more popular, it seemed like a wise move to make."
Kurre took to Twitter not long after the news broke with the tweet: "Even The Beatles break up sometime."
Ryan Brown, a co-host of "The Roundtable," tweeted initial information regarding the move, which was later confirmed by Walls.
Here's what Brown said about the changes on twitter
"Ha! Not banned at all. Can't answer a lot of questions, here are some we can:
1. Show is moving 6-10
2. Will be replayed 10-2 initially
3. New show 10-2 soon
4. No change to the show
5. All of our regular guests you love (or hate) will keep coming on plus an old one you love."

Wow. I don't think they knew this morning when they were doing the show. It was business as usual. Either they or it was a replay. I was never a big fan of the OD but I really liked listening to the Round Table on my lunch break. I hope the new 10-2 show is good.

I don't think they knew. I'll miss the round table being on at lunch too. I know we'll get replays for awhile but that won't last long

Lance doesn't seem like a morning person to me, LOL. Will be interesting. They have an excellent chemistry, especially with Rocky doing his thang.

He's awesome. What's your deal?

If you think Tony acted like a frat boy, the round table is like living on the front porch of the KA house listening to three dopes from small-town Alabama tell inside jokes and stories and act like everybody's dying to hear about their lives.
I detest the roundtable show.

The Roundtable is a great show. IMO it’s one of the better sports talk shows I’ve listened to. They have great chemistry and self-awareness. I also think they bring a lot more knowledge to the table than other taking heads while being good natured. They also don’t try to bait people into listening/calling by pissing them off which is refreshing.
Hope their format translates to the morning time. They will definelty have a different demographic compared to midday.

I've yet to find a show as good as the RoundTable. Multiple talking points, great interviews, great chemistry, funny, and solid knowledge of basically every sport. I've listened to the Ticket in Dallas, and they've got a good morning show, but I love listening to the RT.
I'll have to find something for my mid-day slot. Nashville has a good sports station on IHeartRadio.
