Man, the offseason BBQ thread........

For beef, Texas style BBQ is great.
For pork, I'll go with Memphis style BBQ though.

I like how Texans pretend they know all the secrets to BBQ that no one else knows. Lol no.

I'm not going to say that Brisket sucks or anything. Its good. But beef isn't real BBQ. And when it comes to real BBQ with pork like God and nature intended, Texas isn't very good at it.

But tbh, I actually still agree with the premise of OP to an extent. I'm not rating the whole SEC and this is more of a "guide" than a prediction, but:
-Auburn and Alabama will be at the top, just like white BBQ sauce and Alabama BBQ.
-Georgia is once again trailing the state of Alabama.
-Mizzou is being highly overrated by their own fanbase even though the entire outside world can see they're nothing but average, just like Kansas City and Missouri BBQ.
-Once Upon a Time, Tennessee football was something special, a powerhouse, one of the elite, and they were known nationally for their quality. But they fell off a long time ago, they're no longer even a shadow of their former selves they are laughing stocks. Just like Memphis BBQ.
-South Carolina athletics are a mirror image of literally any kind of BBQ sauce to originate anywhere in the Carolina's, whether it's puke looking mustard based sauce, or like puke tasting vinegar based sauce, its all just an abomination that only somebody who grew up with it forced on them could acquire a taste for.
-14. Texas A&M. Dead last in the SEC. Because just like Texas briskets and their "BBQ" of beef, the Aggies are pretenders. Their fans are too stupid to see it though and think they're putting out the same product as the blue bloods. And just looking at them by themselves you might even be fooled into thinking they're the real deal because on the surface, they usually look pretty good. But once they're faced off against each other and you can make a side by side comparison, you can easily tell how much the Texas product is pure trash

Texas "bbq" is steak with barbecue sauce on it. The pig is the gig. BBQ = Pork

If A&M is going to win the conference win Texans learn how to cook BBQ ( or anything for that) Aggie fans are going to be waiting a LONG time......Texas BBQ is UNEDIBLE.....burnt beef brisket slathered in ketchup and beans.....it ain't even close to BBQ which is pork, period. If it ain't pig it ain't BBQ.....

They also can't cook a steak in Texas....again, burnt to a crisp tough as shoe leather...

And finally there ain't any Mexican food fitting to eat in Texas.....Even Georgia has better Mexican food than all of Texas

You're BBQ is bad, but not terrible.

Ya see, its the bolded part you say they will align with...makes this is one the worst post of the year, even if its just a troll attempt.

You think this is how football will end up next year?

We've had the BBQ debate a couple of times, and I still hold BBQ is more regional than state-centric. However, I saw these couple of articles I thought were interesting rankings.

The first is a ranking of states based on their love/interest for BBQ, no matter the style. write up for each state here

The other blog was a best overall food power ranking (see LINK for each state's write-up):
2. Texas
4. Louisiana
5. Tennessee
12. South Carolina
14. Georgia
19. Missouri
20. Florida
22. Alabama
23. Mississippi
29. Kentucky
31. Arkansas

In any case from the OP to these rankings, neither best BBQ nor best food rankings will look like 2018 final football rankings.

Kansas City has the best all around BBQ. Kansas City BBQs every meat and has many types of BBQ. Some of it, like Arthur Bryant's vinegar based, are terrible imo.

These other areas have their speciality, like Brisket, or pulled pork, etc. But KC does so much more with so much variety that it makes it the best overall place.

If we are being completely honest, if you just learn how to BBQ proper you can make your BBQ better tasting than every BBQ place anyways. The only reason to eat at a BBQ restaurant is because you are too lazy to make it yourself.
