Saw where he is listed as an athlete. Just read somewhere else that he is a QB.

Will he play QB or switch to another position?

He will get his shot to become Auburn Dak, but if not we will move him to tightend and use him to beat bama in 2021.

He's a QB who played other positions in his junior year because his team had another FBS prospect at QB. He's got a lot of arm talent, but is fairly raw. He will for sure start off at QB, but could probably move to another position if it doesn't work out, especially with Bo Nix coming in later on.

Malik Willis will be the clear 2 spot from there it’s dicey.

He’s going to be a QB, he’s every bit of the height he’s listed at. Needs to put on more weight in my opinion.

Gatewood will Transfer to Uf. Mullen will make sure Auburn never touches another Florida blue chip recruit. No program wastes FL HS talent the way Auburn does.

Will be interesting to see how our qb situations shakes out the next several years.

Stidham this year, but Willis played well and was electric when he got in the game.

Gatewood has all world potential but who knows. Could be next Dak or next JJ.

Then Bo Nix comes in next year.

We are pretty set at qb for 4-5 years in all likelihood.

If GusBus can coach them up as well as he has the last few he’s brought in you should be in shape to do wonders in the National Championship picture.

I'd say UF has a pretty good claim to that title from 19xx-1992, and 2010-present.

Regardless, Mullen trying to close the deal vs Auburn for a recruit with a Florida connection:

By August 2019, Joey Gatewood will be considered the pre-season Heisman favorite, and a strong candidate to lead Auburn back to another Peach Bowl bid, after their rather average 8 win 2018 season. Even though Gatewood has very little actual experience at that point, his thrilling off-the-bench, near come-from-behind performance against one loss San Diego State in the previous Holiday Bowl will have Auburn fans buzzing with excitement.

Unfortunately, after rumors of a bar fight with new Auburn defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, and a series of disappointing outings culminating in a backwards 15 yard pick 6 overtime loss against LSU, Gatewood will be benched. He won't see action again until Bo Nix suffers a sprained ankle in a late season loss against TAMU, giving Gatewood the start against reigning national champs UGA. With Auburn's top two RB's also injured, and another declaring very early for the NFL, Gatewood will once again struggle and Auburn will have only two first downs the entire Georgia game, losing 24-3. Two weeks later Gatewood will announce he's transferring to play for new head coach Greg Schiano at the University of Tennessee.

Came to Auburn out of high school. He has no chance of being any good under Gus.

Should have went to JC first, then went to Auburn.

Gus can only win with a transfer QB.
