What does the SEC seem to think of him? Not being a troll, I do believe that LSU will see much more out of any QB no matter who we start (Etling) but I wanted to know what the SEC thinks he could do with the obvious talent we have.

He was great at Pitt.

No one knows how he will do in the SEC.

He could light the world on fire or he could be mediocre. Who knows at this point? Let the man coach for at least 3 games.

He has "potential" to be great and do well but it's also possible that he could crash and burn. Some coaches just thrive better at smaller schools with less expectations.

He's probably in the 5-7 range in the West as far as offensive ability goes...

There is not a better OC in the west. None that have been nominated for the Broyles award like Canada

Very good hire imo. I wanted him at UT.

That he is Cam Cameron 2.0 until proven otherwise. Lsu fans talked the same exact smack when they hired that bozo.

I think hes already 1000 times better than Cam Cameron who was the most overrated OC in the history of college football. Canada hasnt even coached a game at LSU and I would be extremely happy with the hire if I were an LSU fan. He made Nathan Peterman pretty damn good.

Bert thought Jim Chaney was a better option when he came to Arkansas. Meh

Best finish, full disclosure, 4th in West. Tie for 3rd would be moonshot goal with O

What do I think?

I think he was fired at NC State year before last.

It's what he does with the not-obvious talent that will make him a winner or loser.

I will simply say I was not that impressed with his skill set when we ran up against him 2 years ago. State's defense was putrid and they managed very little sustained production up until garbage time, final score 51-28.

Keep this in mind, he was fired by NC State prior to his genie in the bottle season at Pit last year.

The jury is definitely still out on him.
