Here's a story from a Celtics site LINK
Sounds like Bryce stole Yante Maten's spot. That's hilarious
quote:
Brown signed a fully non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract. This contract can be converted to a Two-Way contract or standard NBA contract. If Brown is waived and spend 60 days in the NBAGL, he can earn up to a $50,000 bonus.
quote:
During 2019 Summer League, Brown averaged 6.7 points per game, while hitting over 56% on three-pointers. He played in seven total games, all off the bench.
It had been reported that Boston was going to sign forward Yante Maten, but that signing has yet to materialize. Brown’s signing puts the Celtics at the offseason max of 20 players. It is common at this time of year for NBA teams to do some shuffling at the end of the roster. This is done so teams can give themselves options to acquire Affiliate Player rights for their NBAGL teams. Each team is allowed to designate up to four players as an Affiliate Player. The key is that these players must have been waived by the affiliated NBA team prior to signing with the NBAGL. In Boston’s case, they will likely designate 3-4 of the training camp players as Affiliate Players for the Maine Red Claws.

I watched some basketball practice clips yesterday
Okoro looks shorter than I expected.
Cambridge taller than expected
Same for Stretch.
Wiley sure looks the part in practice. Hope he can put it together finally.

From someone who knows very little about the art of basketball, that practice just looks like pure chaos to me.
Anyone care the try and explain what they appear to be working on with CBP?

They are basically just working on tracking the ball and switching defenders. Having guys work on communication and staying in front of your man when the ball is moving all over the place.
Second half was basically just walk through of some motion plays and what not.

A couple of things from Mark Murphy this week...
-Since we have Stretch Akingbola now to help Wiley at the 5, A-Mac told MM he is mostly playing the 4 now with Danjel
-Based on what MM has seen in the summer & practice, Stretch & Cambridge will have a chance to play a lot as freshmen.

Could you imagine a rotation with Purifoy at the 3, AMac at 4, and Wiley or Stretch at 5. I know that won’t happen much, but that would be a fun lineup to see.
I like AMac at 4 some. Let’s him get out and run some on the break and use his athleticism.

I knew Cambridge wouldn’t be a redshirt candidate.

Deductive reasoning then tells us Jaylin Williams is probably leader in the clubhouse as far as redshirt candidates go

Just think how much further Stretch may be along if he had gotten to come to AU this past January as planned or even gotten to stay in the US to play with Sharife all Spring & Summer instead of having to go back home overseas til his Visa sitch was straightened out.

Auburn with a huge weekend ahead: Five-stars Jalen Green and Sharife Cooper hit campus for their official visits. Bruce Pearl met with the family of Green recently and is making a major push. Cooper remains the major target.

I listened to Marcello’s podcast yesterday and he had several Auburn writers on and they all felt like this is the weekend Cooper pulls the trigger. We’ve heard that before so we will see.

If he doesn't I might start pre-melting. At some point it starts to feel like the hot girl in school who kept leading you on.

In this particular situation the hot girl is dating a guy who she hears is being investigated by the police and she fears if she commits to him he will eventually be it in jail and then she will have to find someone else.

quote:There is no real #2 at this point. FWIW Rivals analyst Dan McDonald wouldn't be surprised if Sharife drags it out some more but thinks AU is still the heavy favorite.
