Johnny Unitas, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana all are better than any you listed. And yes I saw them

If you're gonna play the knowledgeable grandpa role, at least play it well. This was poor. If Joe Montana is the best college QB you've seen, then either (a) it's 1978 and you live in South Bend (and you aren't particularly bright), or (b) you are actually a full blown retard, and not in the way like where I might just call you retarded when I really just mean dumber than a knapsack of vaginas.. No no. I mean, like an actual retarded person.

"no, that guy's retarded"

Bruh, name one other QB who has ever completed a pass to himself for 37 yards.

Everybody knows JFF was a product of Mike Evans and an NFL OL

That was just a light-hearted jab, you know. I cleared my stance about it up in this post, which you seemed to have just ignored:

quote:

All joking aside, I do put Manziel right up there with Cam, Tebow, and Vince. But for that other dude to say those guys are talented, yet elevate Manziel to "magical" praise. Well, that's just ignorant.

Matt Jones was another special talent, but let's face it, that dude never stood a chance. Too many head problems and too much Houston Nutt in his life to really accomplish anything of significance. He was just a freak athlete, though.

In defense of Manziel we are comparing his Freshman and Sophomore years to most others Junior and Senior years. Also, Mike Evans and a good o-line aside he really had a far worse team than all of these other players had. You give Johnny Vince Young's Texas team or Tebow's Florida team and he wins championships hands down.

Vick is also a good answer, he had very little talent around him at Va Tech too.

I'm sorry guys but four years of Tim Tebow trumps one or two years from all those others mentioned, although I admit some like Manziel, Cam, Wuerfel, etc. were pretty darn good.

Homer says Tebow, I loved me some VY too

eta: Mariota was fun to watch in person last year, although far from GOAT material. Great QB still

Wuerffel was the best I ever saw in person. On TV, Young or Cam, Tebow not too far behind.

Cam Newton in all phases

Best passer and leader I ever saw was Tom Brady. Sat in the Orange Bowl in early Jan 2000 and watched him methodically dissect our defense. Guy sitting next to me said when Bama got up 28-14 that was the worst thing that could happen, now Michigans gonna pass every down. I realized early in the 4th there was no way we could stop him. Even our SEC leading D was no match. I have sat and watched Bama play only 4 QB's that I knew we couldn't stop no matter what we tried.

Tom Brady
Cam Newton
Peyton Manning

Manziel is close on this list would make a mistake here or there unlike the other 3.

If those other guys threw the ball away on 3rd down they could just punt and trust that their defense would get a stop. A lot of times A&M literally could not punt because the defense was sure to give up a score. So that meant Johnny had to force a throw where he probably shouldn't have just based on the fact that the defense was so bad.

If it is seen as a college QB and you consider the entire career, it would probably be John Hadl. Get your Googles to working!

In person or on tv?

In person: Drew Brees, saw him put up 400+ passing yards on Penn State in a loss it was crazy.

TV: Probably Cam or Vince Young

Saw Cam in person. What Cam was able to do in just one season was pretty amazing. I am slightly biased, but I have to say that I always felt like he was in control of the game. ALWAYS

Saw JFF in person as well and he is in my top 5.

Vince Young is also among the top 5 of all time. He and Cam are very similar but also very unique, too.

Throw Tebow in there as well. Not sure who my 5th is... maybe Jeremy Johnson?
