Sam Bradford - best drop back passer ever. Remarkably accurate, made all the throws. Not so much the leader but extremely gifted in passing.

Absurd. The guy was accurate because he threw 20 screen passes a game.

Nice euphemism.

Are you referring to their alleged steroid use (as well as the county scholarships and partial qualifiers)?

Cam had the best season. Tebow had the best career.

Who was better? Wuerffel? Spurrier?

Tebow had a better career than both and it's not really close.

VY
Cam

At this point I'm genuinely curious if you ever watched those Florida teams play

Lots of QB's mentioned here had great mechanics, pinpoint accuracy, breakneck speed, large frames with bruising run power, and threw perfect spirals like they were snapping their fingers.

Johnny did almost none of those things, but he could damn near always drop a wobbly ball in exactly the right spot when he needed to, he could break tackles and burn defenses right up the middle of the field, and do any manner of other things to make things happen on a football field that defied all logic and reason, and made SEC defenses look flat out silly on a regular basis.

And don't bring that weak shite about being benched by the Browns. The Browns do NOTHING right. If Tom Brady showed up for practice in a Browns uniform tomorrow Pettine would bench him too. Because whatever the smart move is, you can rest assured that the Browns will find a way to do the opposite.

Can I make a huge homer honorable mention pick?

"yeah, sure, go ahead", said the crowd.

Okay, here goes then.

From a pure "arm talent' perspective, Tyler Bray remains the best I've ever seen. The guy could throw a 50 yard laser off his back foot with a flick of the wrist. His release was just crazy fast. The guy was a 6-6 and like a buck eighty and ran maybe a 5.4 40, and yet he was virtually unsackable. If there is a guy who got the ball out of his hands quicker, I never saw him play in college.

He also had touch like Manziel. He didn't Elway every pass 100 mph into receivers ten yards away from him. Touch. Catchable throws. But a cannon, and not a Jamarcus Russell cannon that flew 20 yards long every fourth throw. An accurate cannon. And one that seemed soft and fluffy to boot. No matter how far he threw the ball, it seemed to sort of just put on the brakes in mid-air about two feet from his intended receiver's hands, and then nicely drop in there in a catchable manner.

None of what I am saying here is sarcasm. I said for three years that the guy's right arm may have actually been a magic wand.

Nah

Tebow's titles were built largely around dynamic backs, Percy Harvin being impossible to defend and good defenses. He was a great leader, but he wasn't the dynamic playmaker Cam was. Defenses couldn't key on him because he could hand the ball to any number of future NFL players who ran 4.3-4.4 40s from all directions.

Auburn said "we're gonna run Cam between the tackles 15-20 times and he's gonna get 200 yards doing it". Then he did it. Over and over again.

Look at that long TD run he had against LSU and ask yourself if Tebow could do that? Hell no, he didn't have that gear.

When you say Johnny Manziel you mean Mike Evans right?

Eh. Disagree. People heavily underrate Tebow these days because of overexposure and NFL failure.

Arguing that Young was a better college QB than CAM isn't merely objective wrong....it's a credibility killer. I Anyone who actually thinks VY was better than Cam should just quietly exit the thread and go to the music board and post about the new Carly Rae Jepsen album or something. Something. Just not rating college QBs.

Manziel was plenty accurate and his wheels were plenty adequate. He wasn't a homerun hitter like Vick, but he could move dem sticks.
