I honestly think the formula is there. The culture is here. The facilities are apparent.
What is it?

You need a new jump to conclusions mat

Its Brandon Allen's lack of clutch and penalties, mainly.

But the talent is not there on defense, you lost too much
And the injuries really hurt you

Your state is underpopulated and very white. Therein lies most of your problem.

it's playcalling and by extention Bert.
Why the hell do you pass on 3rd down when you are averaging over 4 yards a carry?

I don't either.
Bielema wouldn't be where he is if he didn't know how to coach.
I think it's a combination of (a) being in a brutal division with teams who just happen to be gellin' right now, and (b) lousy luck.
I'm convinced the pieces are in place to turn things around in Fayetteville; the fans just need to give BB some breathing room.
It's a tough request to make in this day and age, but I hope they do.

injuries and depth
less injuries and more depth on this years football team, this season would be going better

Agree with this. Just lacking a few athletes in key positions. You guys lost a couple of awesome LBs. Hogs don't seem to be very fast in the secondary.
Amazing how just a couple of key positions can make such a difference.
Bert is a good coach. He has proven this already. Proved it last year as the Hogs came on the last month of the season. Hogs were stout by the end and could have beaten anyone in the SEC. Absolutely crushed texass... actually more of a destruction.
Need to beat Tennessee. Do that and there is a good chance to get back on track and go bowling.

We need more talent and experience at LB. It seems like we are a couple years away from having that.
We need to play with more discipline (penalties). Bielema's teams have usually been great at that; not sure why we've sucked so bad at that this year.
We need to figure out what exactly the formula is for offensive success - it feels like we are in an experimental phase. Allen has become a better passer this year and Enos has brought more balance, so I'm optimistic that we'll have some good offenses with some great young QB's waiting in the wings. We need to fill our backfield with 4 top quality RB's at all times - RB is crucial to this year's class. We need to do better at setting up our playmakers for big plays.
We need more consistency in our field goal kicking.
In theory I love Bert ball and think it will be successful, but when you have all of the above issues (+ injury bug) then you're looking at what we have right now.

This particular year the injuries, lack of talent, and loss of experienced upperclassmen from last year has the team in turmoil.
BB seems like he's just rattling off a bunch of coach speak in his pressers. I hope Jeff Long has the patience to keep BB on because I think the man knows how to coach. And we know Arky can be successful in this division with the right coaching.
