Was on Finebaum and said last weeks Media Blackout is one of several incidents which exemplifies something being off in Tuscaloosa. Finebaum agreed and wondered if Saban can get things back on track

Are we witnessing the Bama #decline?

Our QB's suck so we are secretly installing a wishbone offense that is going to destroy the SEC. Tony Brown at QB. Get used to it.

They've been so damn good, what could they possibly decline to? 11-2? 10-3?

Some decline.

He cited the fact (really the only "evidence" he had) that Saban asked reporters not to report details of the practice. A policy practically every team uses.

Really shows Wolken's stunning lack of knowledge.

No, you are witnessing two crappy "journalists" that will say anything to get attention.

Bama isn't going to go down the path of a full decline until Saban retires. Until then they will continue to recruit a ton of 5-star and 4-star kids and dominate the SEC for years to come.

Once Saban retires then you will see things fade as time passes. Even when that happens they will eventually return to the top in the future.

First off, I don't think Alabama is in a decline necessarily. I think Saban will be around for another five or so years, and Alabama will have a good shot at winning another couple of titles with him as coach, especially considering how it looks like Saban is making a stab at adapting to the current offensive game theory.

That said, the gravy train ends at some point. It always does, football is inherently cyclical in nature. I hate Alabama, but dammit I respect the teams that Saban has artfully put together. And I can't be sure, but my hunch is that we are in the late stages of Alabama being the preeminent team to beat.

Dan Wolken would not know a decline from an online Hooker.
