This may have been asked, but why were you the first person to post in a thread about LSU rivalries... to tell us that A&M has none?

Dont let that one get to you. Arkansas has been a great rival to LSU for years. and vice versa.
Itll be a great game this year. But we gon get that boot now ya'herd.

We could have been playing mcneese that game and the students still would have done that... the crowd was so into it considering how far we came from the beginning of the season.

Because the question of where a&m ranks as a rival of LSU was asked...

Ole Miss is our biggest rival IMO
Bama is the most anticipated game of the year though

How do LSU fans view their most heated competition?
from 1990-2000 I hated UF the most
from 2000-2007 I hated Auburn the most
from 2007- present I hate Bama the most
Basically, I hate whoever our biggest and best competition is at the time
Never have I had true "hate" for any school.

That's incredibly sad... Your fans would rush the field for McNeese?

Ole Miss, UF, Arky, Aggies
Longevity wise, I feel like LSU and Ole Miss is the biggest out of these four.

In my life time('89-present but had season tickets from 2000-2010) it's been Bama(because of Saban), Florida(great games in '07 and '09), Arky(great games in '07 and '13) Auburn(intense in the early 2000s), Ole Miss(because of the history).
But historically it's:
Ole Miss
Arky
Then Florida, bama, Auburn and A&M will be up there soon

mostly agree with this.
Only difference is that I think with the addition of aTm to the conference, we finally have the chance to have a true rivalry. And I think it is awesome!
I grew up in ascension parish and growing up I pulled for St. Amant. The St. Amant v East Ascension game was probably one of the biggest rivalries in the state and the most enjoyable and awesome game of the year no matter the records of the teams.
Tennesse v Bama
UGA v Auburn
State v Ole Miss
UGA v UF
Bama v Auburn
These games mean something extra to the players and the fans every year no matter what. I hope LSU v aTm can join that conversation.

Truth is, A&M is LSU's biggest rival whether they acknowledge it or not.
The way to get to the root is to ask "losing to which team would be most likely to cause you to want to get blind drunk and run naked onto an Interstate highway..."
Ole Miss and Arky are right there too...because of the amount of deep-hurt BS the LSU fans have to absorb after a loss to those teams.
Deep down, LSU fans EXPECT to lose to Alabama and they respect both Auburn and Florida.. so not much angst about losing to them, hence rivalry status denied.
No, they're really not by any typical definition of the word. I do agree with the statement about which I would hate to lose to, however, for the same reason you stated regarding Ole Miss/ Arky. I personally don't take either of those for granted the way I do the A&M game though.
I don't EXPECT LSU to lose to BAMA, but am certainly not surprised by it. Most of BAMA's recent streak over LSU has been MUCH more competitive than LSU's over A&M. Honestly, if it weren't for this board, I wouldn't feel much different about A&M than Vandy or State.

I (and most Hog fans I know) don't hate LSU one bit, nor have we ever. In fact, LSU is probably the most exciting game to anticipate and watch every season because it doesn't matter how good both teams are, the game is gonna be close and hard fought on both sides. There have been so many good games and moments on both sides, it's almost a mutual respect kind of thing. The only time that a line was crossed was when LSU ran the score up a few days after one of our players died, and the team felt disrespected - and so did Petrino, who went on to cross a line of his own by yelling "frick YOU!!" and flipping the bird to the entire LSU bench in plain view from across the field.
Other than that, the series has been a roller coaster for both teams and legitimately exciting.

Bama because of the last 10 years or so. History with Saban...although that's fading. (especially with 4 straight losses)
AU because the games are usually VERY good, and the home team normally finds a way to win. Barn Burner, Earthquake, etc...
Ole Miss...history, but seriously, congrats on that Egg Bowl win last year. Y'all are done. Geaux to hell, Ole Miss.
Florida...since Spurrier left, it's become a rivalry in which we actually compete.
Arky is a forced rival that only THEY recognize as a rivalry, and it's bitten us in the arse repeatedly. They treat it like the super bowl, we don't.
TAMU...I personally hate them, so they're in the discussion. Soft team...still Big 12 ish.

I would think the fans that planned a tRant troll on their fan page wants to have a rivalry with the fans they planned to troll, but the application is probably declined.
