He was projected to be a Heisman favorite and was "close" in the battle with Winston apparently. He's now about be beat out by a Freshman QB. Thoughts?

I'm also thinking Jimbo just pulled off the biggest troll job ever.

meh, there have big bigger busts. At least he didn't bust all over the field during the season.

Him being on the preseason Heisman lists last year just proves how fricking pointless preseason anything lists are.

Larry your killing your father...

Alabama has QB talent on the team... as the picture below PROVES they were close... (just not athletically)

QB battles are mostly bullshite.

Bo Wallace wasn't named starter until Week 2 and he was "competing" with Brunetti and Mackey, which is why Ole Miss fans aren't worried about there not being a named starter this year at QB. We all know Kelly is the guy. We may be worried about how he'll perform, but not the fact that we don't have a "named starting QB."

Coker is definitely up there, though.

I did hear this, but you hear this about most QB battles where there is no incumbent.

You don't know this.

That makes very little sense. He spoke well about a player / former player, that's pretty much it.

Not even close. He was about the 4th highest rated QB on Bama's roster coming out of HS. A lightly recruited 3 star I believe. There are 5 stars can't miss guys that never start.

Thoughts?

You whiffed a lot in this thread.

Coker will likely start and play most of the time. We'll know at the end of the year.

Only a transfer to Alabama would have gotten the slob knobbing he got. It was awful pre-season last year.

This is what Saban is talking about when he talks about the media and fans and expectations. Why in the world was he projected to be a Heisman favorite? Think about how stupid that is/was.

Gumps start the worst threads. I'd rather swamp kittens continue on their butthurt about how Chavis lost games because he couldn't get 8 stops in a row following 8 LSU offensive 3 and outs. Would honestly be a better thread than this.

There have been many pointless threads lately but this might be the worst.
