Lol Merlin and the mad hater would trade any of their current DL members for Robert.

My vote would be Anthony Jennings or Jeryl Brazil.

He gets double teamed 3/4ths of the time he is on the field.
Not this bullcrap again. I listened to Ole Miss fans saying he gets doubled and tripled teamed all the time, so for the first two drives against LSU I watched just him. Didn't happen. I forgot the total, but in like 18 plays he was doubled teamed around 3 times and was on roller skates. I watched him much throughout the year and the same thing. His best two efforts were against Arkansas, yes it was a beatdown but Nkemdiche played well, and MSU. If he plays like he did in those two all the time he is an All-American. That double and triple team crap is Rebel hogwash that is circulated by their uninformed fans. I know a Rebel fan that is a high school coach, and he sees the same thing I have. Like I said he doesn't suck and is decent, but he has played nowhere close to the number 1 recruit. I'd say Tunsil has been a much better player. Nkemdiche does have the potential though.

Godchaux came in as a freshman fresh off a torn acl and had a better season than Bob Kim has had

I've watched a lot of Ole Miss football - second to LSU obviously - and I'd say he's a solid player but definitely a disappointment in reference to what was expected of him. He was supposed to be the second coming of Clowney. As it turns out his athleticism was overestimated, as it seems that he is largely used as a defensive tackle. His strength comes as billed though, as he often takes double-team blocks and holds his gap, allowing other players on the defense to make plays. Solid DT / run-stopping DE, but definitely not the elite pass rusher that he was billed as.

Had a very equivalent year to Nkemdiche as a DT. He obviously won't be drafted near as high because Nkemdiche still has a lot of room to reach the potential that is estimated for him. But as an SEC DT, Godchaux and Nkemdiche have been very interchangeable. And as someone mentioned, Godchaux was coming off a terrible ACL injury so maybe there's more to see from him.

There is a lot of value in DTs that can take on 2 blocks *AND* hold their gap. Does it make him particularly special? No, but he's a solid player for it.

Looking at it, its actually very solid. If those defensive linemen improve and make an impact under coach O this next season, it'll be a very good class
I agree that if they do take a step forward this year it will be a much better looking class. That DL group was supposed to be nasty. Rettig and Jennings were supposed to be the QBs of our future. Add in Brazil and Robinson gone and it's just solid as of today.
Granted, it's only been two years. Jury is still out.

I agree, but he isn't double teamed 75% of the time. Maybe 25% of the time.

He's no Harold Brantley.

Damn, that's some extensive research. Really paints the picture for his entire career at ole miss

Exactly. A special player is someone who can dominate double teams

I have watched him most all of his career. In that game, tired of hearing said hogwash, I actually kept a running written count to have statistical backup for the Rebel fans spewing this crap at me when I knew what I'd seen from him in earlier games.
