I worked at a local (parish/county) government level for several years. I always wondered what the level of waste was at the federal level because of what I saw. Guess I'm getting my answers now.
The amount of non-qualified people hired due to nepotism, etc was frustrating and 20% of us were doing 80% of the work. Needless to say I left. There are definitely some good and hard working government employees but it's definitely a small percentage. The best/brightest eventually leave.

My favorite are the people going on vacation trying to cram everything in the day before they go out of the office and have to hand off to the people that aren't but have been reminding everyone for weeks of their upcoming time off.

You'll learn. The judge you get, if you end up in front of one, matters a lot more than any attorney you select. You don't have control over what judge you end up in front of though.
