I think it's as simple as Sumlin not wanting to part with either Terry Price or Hagan. Chavis would like to add Haley but Sumlin isn't in a hurry to shake up his defensive coaching staff so close to NSD, I bet. All of our main priorities remaining are essentially on the defensive side of the ball and it seems to me it's as simple as not wanting to shake the apple cart right now.

On the coaching changes board they mentioned something about Brick having a special needs child that they may not want to move around. Not sure if there's any truth to that.

he has an autistic son. Here is his website. He spends a good deal of time to raise awareness and money for autism

Yes, it's true about his son, but Haley is currently an intern at LSU. The son was part of the reason why he was thinking about staying on as DL coach, but that's clearly not the case anymore as he got demoted.

Haley and Price would coach DTs and DEs, respectively. Moving Hagen to TEs is also an option. Demote McKinney or let him go, and then give Banks RBs. Problem solved.

No, there's a bigger issue here.

You plan sounds too simple. You also forget to factor the position coaches preferences. Maybe Price wants full control of the D-Line, or maybe Banks doesn't want to coach RBs.

Banks has coached RBs in the past. It's not uncommon to have separate coaches for DTs and DEs. At the end of the day, the position coaches don't have much of a say in the matter. It comes down to what Sumlin and Chavis want. Chavis wants Brick.

My point is: "there's not enough room on staff for Brick" is not a convincing excuse. You can always find room for a guy like Brick.

people trying to create friction between Chavis and Sumlin before they've even run a practice together. I hate our fans sometimes

pretty out of the blue name. Know absolutely nothing about him but his resume looks thin. I actually remember him when he played for the Colts so there's that

Stanford guys loved him “@billyliucci: Former Virginia Tech assistant Aaron Moorehead hired by Kevin Sumlin as Texas A&M's WR coach.”

from a Hokie on the Coaching Changes board
quote:

He recruited the DMV (mainly MD and DC) and made a lot of headway in that area.

He is young and energetic. The players love him and want to play hard for him.

He got the true freshmen running great routes.

The only knock on our young WRs has been their blocking, but I think that comes with experience and AMO was still working on it.

I'm ok with this hire. I think he is a young up and coming coach.

I like everything I've heard so far. Sounds like he might help fill the recruiting void left by Beaty
