VT boards seem to say he was, at worst, the 2nd best recruiter on their staff. They are not pleased to say goodbye.

Could you post a link to it? I'm too lazy to search the interwebs for their fan board.

I love how we still stole a coach from VT. Yes we can take if we want.

AMO is a much bigger loss than many are thinking. Unless Coach Beamer is retiring this season, Whit should have coughed up the money to keep AMO in place. He is loved and respected by all the players, not just the WR room. He and Shane bring the energy on the O. Hope Whit has a good answer for this. This will be interesting...maybe they hire from within since the hire would only be for a year or two? Thanks, AMO!

This is a huge blow the the top receivers in th DMV that he has built a relationship with and were tech leans

Oh shite

SwagDaddyHokie said... (original post)

all the kids like him, and our WR's have made good progress. He's one of the best recruiters on staff, probably only behind Torrian Gray. Now you have 2 years of groundwork into the DMV. Yet another program is gonna poach talent. frick this

Arkansas hires Dan Enos, Central Michigan's HC, as their new OC.

His background: LINK

Quick facts:
-26-36 at CMU
-Led them to a Little Caesars Pizza Bowl win in 2012
-CMU was ranked 82nd in offense last year

This seems like a flop of a hire.

don't know if it's a flop of a hire. Honestly it's really interesting. He was promoted from RB coach to HC so he's not been an OC (at least not at a big school). Leaves you with questions.

But hiring a 5-year HC who hasn't been fired as your OC is on the surface pretty cool man. Definitely intriguing that an SEC school has that much swag over a MAC school. Let the haves/have nots debate rage.

not really, he was only making $375k as the HC of CMU which made him the lowest paid HC in all of FBS

Does anyone know the Chavis buyout story? What moved that we could announce him officially?

I doubt LSU got a dime. He coached their bowl game on the last day of the year. He didn't officially accept our offer until over a week later. They were just trying to screw us out of brick.
