WAY low. LSU will destroy them. If it was a Bowl game, probably not.

They did lose their front 7, but their backups played as much as the starters last year. They have a lot of experience coming back.
I have read this a few times as though this means they didn't really lose their front 7. But if the backups took equal snaps last year, you would assume the backups this year will play as much. So now last years 3rd string and freshman will be playing half the snaps for the front 7. That's a pretty huge drop off in experience and possibly talent.

Definitely a drop off this year in terms of experience, but last years starters were recruited for a different system. Thats why the backups played a lot. I think they will take more snaps as starters than the starters last year.
I think we win 31-24.
I think Melvin Gordon is the next Jamal Charles. He makes me worried.

And this will be an LSU environment. Anyone who says otherwise is fricking stupid.
Houston is 4 hours away from BR (not 5) and has one of, if not THE, largest LSU alumni network in the country outside of Louisiana.
70% LSU fans in that stadium IMO.

I bet the farm on LSU -4.5 and under 50. Also doing a three team parlay.
There's a lot of unknowns in this game... Betting the farm isn't wise, glad it's not my farm...

I wouldn't touch that game. As big of a fan as I am there are too many unknowns for lsu.

I just can't imagine LSU not pulling away at some point.
LSU will wear 'em down, stifle that Wisky running game and pull away in the 4th for the W. I'm betting the under in this one.

Putting the Farm on LSU and Arky M/L
LSU 48-17
Arky 37-34

5 hours away is a home game?
Have you not been to Houston before? HUGE LSU contingent here - myself included.

Ask Auburn about those backup defensive backs.

I don't.
I think this is going to be a short, low-scoring game, with a lot of running plays, and very few passing. I don't see a lot of big plays, so the possessions for each team will be limited. That said, one turnover could be the difference in the game. A lot of 9-man fronts on both sides. It'll come down to which team is in better physical shape by the 4th quarter.
I actually think Wisky will cover, but lose the game. Honestly, I think it'll look a lot like last years game vs Iowa, with a slightly closer score at the end.
It's going to be a slobber knocker of near-epic proportions. Miles' type of game.

I can see this being a lot like the 2010 opener with UNC. Tigers get a huge lead then hang on at the end for the win and cover.
No doubt that there will be a massive LSU contingent but don't underestimate Wisky fans. They'll bring the people and the noise as well as anyone.

My personal rules of betting.
1. I never bet on my teams
2. I never bet week one
3. I never bet on teams with new starting QB's
ETA: I do think it's a great line for LSU though.

now that all the troll responses are (hopefully) out of the way
i'd say its a fair line..i do think LSU wins something like 20-13
i cant see either team lighting up the scoreboard. i can only see that happening if its like the oregon game in 2011 where we capitalize off field position and turnovers and they self destruct.
it will be close throughout IMO. kinda similar to the bowl game vs iowa but i expect more polish from the qb spot, effective ground game, and the wr's to surprise. if we would just throw to the fricking tight end once in a while.

I like our chances. SEC vs Big 10 on a clean field.

I think it's a pretty fair line.
Opening night, esp. with two unknown teams returning some talent, but who both lost some experienced players - is always hard to handicap.

I think LSU bombs this year, but I don't think they lose to Wisconsin. I think they just start to slip toward the end of the year once it's clear they're not in it for the SECW.
But that said, wouldn't be a shock to anyone if Wisconsin won.

I like the under more than the spread.
