I'm sure it would've seemed trivial to the last staff too

All a scare tactic to make sure the players don't do it.

Damn I love CDC. Taking one for the team!

Garner
-very impressed w/ Kennion
-excellent speed, definitely 4.6/40 maybe 4.5
-probably used in some pass rushes
-Lambert pushing Elijah for starting spot at DE
-please w/ Lawrence and expects him in the DT rotation
-sees Andrew Williams as a big DE that can move inside on pass downs
-Gabe is at DE but may move inside on pass plays
-feels good about all DT vets
-Russell making plays and making it tough for Garner to Redshirt him
-Injuries have slowed Owens but coming along
-likes Cass as a DE on pass plays

Surprised about Kennion but that's awesome. Sounds like a monster in the future. So is the starting DL right now Daniel/Bradley/Blackson/Gabe? Sounds like Adams and Russell combo will be tough next year

quote:

Horton
-Roc playing tail and speed back
-picking up the O fast and on track to play this year
Good battle between CAP and Grant to be starter
-Won't see a Tre Mason numbers year because we will pass more, also will have more shared carries
-Pleased w/ Pettway, up to 250 lbs
-Barber 100% and playing well

I wanna see Roc on that speed sweep. Get outside and make plays. Really excited for Grant/Payne. Both have waited and worked for this opportunity

quote:

Cheese
-Very pleased w/ Whitehead, Moncrief, and Ford
-Ford is back up and both safety spots but Cheese considers him a starter whatever that means
-Likes what Tray is doing and expected to be a player in 2015
-Very excited about Boston and Roberts
-both like contact
-Boston makes plays while Roberts good in coverage
-Ruffin will be used in coverage situations (likely the 7 DB package)
-pleased w/ all the Star players

Good to hear about Ford. I see some pick sixes in his future. Sounds like Boston and Roberts will both be playing this season

quote:

Grimes
-Shon had pass pro issues in Spring but very impressed w/ how he played last week
-Feels Golson is a future pro
- will begin at tackle for AU but may moved depending on needs and how he develops
-Slade concussion and missed last few days
-Not a log term concern and will be back soon
-very excited w/ Braden
-Can plat T or G but will begin at Tackle for AU
-Dismukes: "He's like a pig in the mud. If you want to wrestle with him, you're going to get dirty."
-Reese smart football player JB ever seen
-amazed by Danzey's turn around the past year
-Now the #3 Guard which is a massive jump

Shon Coleman is going to be the story of the season. To come back from what he dealt with and be not only a starter but probably a really good one is awesome. Love the depth up front even with Kozan out

quote:

Craig
-Duke one of the best CDC ever seen
-playing inside and outside
-not pleased w/ Sammie gaining weight
-up to 215 lbs and CDC wants him at 210
-happy with how Sammie is playing though
-Denson making a lot of progress after injury
-CDC tore his achillies playing basketball and was tough to tell Gus b/c Gus told entire team to not play Bball.

Man I want Duke to live up to the hype. He and Coates have chance to be best tandem we have seen at AU if Marshall improves passing and they make plays. Again ridiculous depth here too

quote:

Fountain
-Hutch, Carlson, Shiel, and Stovall all competing at Pnter w/ it even now
-hopes to have a starter in another week
-will use different guys for long kicks and high kicks if needed
-Carlson locked up K
-Quan Bray, Jonathon Mincy, Stephen Roberts, Marcus Davis and Ricardo Louis have working at Punt Returner
-Returning kicks likely will be Grant and Louis, but Rudy, Roc and Burton also getting looks
-CJ and Fulse have done great at TE
-Fulse different than January
-better pad lever and became a leader

Punter scares me. Hutchinson looked shaky at spring game and he has yet to win the spot is concerning. I love the idea of Louis and Grant on KRs. Both are fast and physical. I wanna see Fulse catch a TD this season

So ready for August 30th!!!

They switched sides of the field and Parkey puts another through the endzone

if the Colts don't keep Parkey on, someone will pick him up

Since Bironas is gone from the Titans I wish they'd get Parkey. Titans don't have a single damn AU player.

Could not be more excited about our O line depth and future. SEC fricked.

I find it interesting they are letting the kicker try out for punter as well. I remember an NFL punter saying that the motion and training for kicking and punting are not at all complementary, and that it could eventually hurt your kicking leg to do both.

Of course Duval did both (IIRC) so...

I was really hoping we would average hanging 60-70 points a game on teams, making this possible, but I'm greedy.

I am going to continue to pump up my boys, Devaroe and Rasheed. And remind all the Garner doubters that he has this. I have to pinch myself daily. Just to make sure that Richt really did pass him over time and time again.

More stuff, this time from AUC

Craig
-Duke lost 5-6 lbs and is faster and better than he was in the Spring
-Davis is a big timer who deserves more pub
-Truitt and Burton have impressed but finding PT for them will be hard

Horton
-Grant could carry up to 20 times a game if ever needed
-4 of the 5 RBs will be expected to play (did not single anyone out)

Cheese
-Garrett and Therezie would split time if game 1 was today. Don't know who would start at Star

Garner
-Russell impressive at DT but may not be needed to play this year given the #s at ST
-Nobody has stepped forward in the pass rush role w/ Lawson out
-pleased with numbers on the DL
-don't know if Lawson will return or not

Fountain
-Jakell Mitchell has had a great camp but needs to gain weight

Smith
-Has a lot of CBs that can ball and will play more this year than last
-T Reed will be in rotation and get a lot of PT
-TJ Davis has had his best camp
-Bessent, Turner and Melton are making steady progress
-Holsey likely start at Boundaty CB.
-big time player but still rusty from missing last half of 2013
-Jones had a strong camp and likely to start for Mincy in game 1

...must mean the Therezie rumor is mostly BS. I doubt he'd be so vocal about him, if the outcome was going to be so bad.

Garrett gonna play game one a bunch regardless... With arkansas's running game. He also matches up better against their TEs. They're gonna throw to the tight end a bunch.

Haven't seen in mentioned but JB Grimes said Braden Smith can bench 600 lbs. Said he wouldn't believe it if he hadn't seen it himself.

I don't doubt it. This was him hitting a set of 3 his senior year. It's only 515lbs.

I can bench about 265 2-3 times and max at about 310. That is without a spot.

515x3 would translate to around 600 once.

However, that was not close to 3 reps at 515. The spotter took a LOT off that even though it doesn't look that way. I would say at that time, he would have gotten 515 once but not twice without that spot.

Doesn't matter, dude is a beast. But I hate it when people give credit to a lift when a spotter is taking a good bit off the lift.
