McElroy is 26 years old and is just starting out as a commentator... he is doing well and will improve. I bet nearly everyone on the rant wishes they had the opportunity that McElroy has when they were 26 but let the hate flow like wine you miserable sons of bitches
And this pretty much sums things up.
Reminds me of the fat-arse UF grad at a local sports radio station a few years ago that was always bitching because Erin Andrews was doing sideline reporting for ESPN while the fat-arse was doing radio in a mid market town, and both had the same degrees from the college of journalism.

Technically. I guess sat a few seasons would be a better way of putting it.

Why do LSU fans hate GMac so much?

Do you disagree with my statement? I don't "hate" anybody. I do think he seems to be a bit of douche but he should get better in time.

Only in your warped mind is someone who is picking Auburn, South Carolina, and Ole Miss as his favorites and picking LSU over Alabama considered an Alabama homer.

I guess he could be viewed as a douche. Especially if you are a fan of a team he played against. I really don't think he's that bad though. There seems to be worse ESPN talking heads. Some better no doubt but the kid is still young.

Agreed I think he has gone out of his way to avoid being viewed as a homer. Talking positively about Saban as a coach in the media isn't homerism.

He started for the Jets late in 2011.

About as awkward as watching LSU attempt to pass the 50 in their last national championship game.
My grandfather used to say the same about A&M's last such appearance.

I'd like to announce that I hereby defend the Bammers on this.

Doesn't seem to offer much to discussions and things always just seem like they don't flow when he's involved in the conversation. How did he get to this point?

In retrospect maybe we have been just a wee bit critical of the guy. I'll give him a chance. Maybe he just didn't know what to say yet so he stuck with what he believed???

Mett should have started the day he walked on campus

"Relatively objective"? Did you not hear his lengthy sermon on how great Saban is during one of the media sessions at SEC Media Days? And again yesterday on PM's show? If I wanted a speech writer to come up with a recruiting pitch for my school/its coach, these 2 speeches would be the blue print. He is now representing the SEC, not bama. Why is he getting so much air time as opposed to the other tv analysts? As much as people here knock Herbie or Palmer, I have never heard either give such a sermon as GM has now done twice. If Tebow had done this, bama fans would be losing their minds here. I could care less that it's a former bama player doing this: no former player of any team should be given this much air time, totally unproven, to trumpet how great his former coach/school is.

I don't mind McElroy, or Tebow, or Spears as people and don't care where they came from. All three were great ball players, but the sec network could've made better choices for their launch.
I would rather listen to the opinions of national title winning SEC players from the modern era all day than hear some nerd with a Mizzou journalism degree talk out his arse about a game he has never played.
