Lost in the fray here does everyone here cognizant of the fact that LSU has begun offering a 27 month online MBA as of the Fall of 2013?
Has anyone spoken to or known anyone who has gone through it?
As someone who completed an LSU MBA program I would love to hear some input from someone who has experienced this program?

rule of thumb should be you can only be a legit fan of a school that is easier to get into than the institution you attend. Say, a Uga grad who is a die hard ole miss fan, legit in my book. The other way around and they can GFY.
Negative, I went to another school because they had a degree that UGA didn't offer.

Did UGA cash his check? If so, then he's a dawg.

To be a real fan you have to give at least $10,000 to the scholarship fund.

This does happen.
As well as going to a school with more prestige than "x SEC school" in the degree you are pursuing.

What if, hypothetically, you are a scholarshipped athlete taking your courses by email?
Are you a "sidewalk" letterman?
I'm not sure why there's confusion with "sidewalk". Sidewalk to me simply means you did not attend the school, it has nothing to do with your fanhood passion. Some of the biggest and most loyal supporters of SEC schools never attended.
So in your example, no that's impossible, because you'd be attending the school.

There is very little to separate a "sidewalk fan" from a "tshirt fan", unless you relate "tshirt fans" to be "bandwagon fans".
Either way, it would be hard to call anyone who possesses a degree from said school to be any sort of the fan above of said school.

I don't like the term sidewalk fan. It feels like a put down. We are still fans and some of us are good fans.
It's like calling a ginger soulless. Gingers still have souls.

If someone got their masters at A&M, and they feel like cheering for A&M, then I don't really see a problem.
I guess the fact that it's all online kind of changes things but even then at least they are capable enough of doing it, puts them miles above most t-shirt fans.

Do ppl cheer for the team that they got a Masters from if they already cheer for another team?
Most tend to cheer for thier undergrad school.
Agreed, got my Masters from a Big 10 school but I consider the undergrad my team.

I'm getting a specialist's online through Arky State. Might try to get Gus to autograph the glass on the frame just for shits and giggles.

He got his undergrad from Kennesaw, gives zero fricks about KSU.
Why do people feel obligated to be a fan of a school based on a business transaction? The school sells you a service just like any other business.

I got an MBA from Haas School of Business and I wouldn't set foot back on Cal's campus even if it were burning to the groud and I was the last dip shite on the planet who could put the fire out.

If you have a degree from the school you're not a sidewalk fan. You actually attended the school. If you walked at the on campus graduation to receive a degree you're a student of that school.

Thats just what people who are fans of the school they attended say to make themselves feel superior in some way to those who didn't. I didn't go to UGA but was a Bulldog fan before ever attending college. Fanhood has nothing to do with wear you attend school.
Thats what sidewalk fans tell themselves to being loyal to Universities they have no real ties to.
