Do we think it’s from some bad bat soup or was a leak from some lab in Wuhan?

Dallas County has issued a sherlter in place order effective Monday March 23 11:59 pm that will be in effect until at least April 3.

I'm sure some will disagree but IMO Abbott is kind of being a coward passing this off to local authorities to make the decision.

Dallas County residents are being ordered to stay in their homes except for essential work and errands. All businesses that are not deemed essential are also ordered to stop operating.
County Judge Clay Jenkins announced the strictest limits yet on social gatherings and movement in Texas shortly after 5:30 p.m. His order, which came the same day the number of positive cases of coronavirus cases in the county surpassed 100, is the latest update to restrictions that were implemented March 12.
“This order is our best chance to flatten the curve here in Dallas County and save as many lives as possible," he said. “It makes me sick that we’re at this point.”
The escalation, which goes into effect at 11:59 p.m. Monday, puts an end to social and community gatherings, including weddings and funerals. It was a move Jenkins said he was not ready to take only days ago.
Residents may exercise and walk their pets outside, however, they must stay at least six feet away from others. Restaurants may continue to offer delivery. Grocery stores may remain open. However, religious services must be televised and must limit staff on-site to 10. Elective surgery and dental work must be rescheduled.
The orders echo similar measures in California and New York.
Earlier Sunday, Gov. Greg Abbott said he was not prepared to put such restrictions in place statewide, noting that most Texas counties have not reported a positive COVID-19 case.
He suggested that local authorities put stricter policies in place if they deem them necessary.
“At this time it is not the appropriate approach to enforce that strict standard statewide,” Abbott said.
Jenkins, who earlier pressured Abbott to shutter restaurants statewide, reiterated his hope that Abbott would reconsider.
“I was so in hopes this would be a statewide ban and I would not be standing here tonight," he said, adding later: “We’re headed to a point of no return if we continue to doddle.”

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins was expected to issue a countywide shelter-in-place order on Sunday, marking the most expansive action yet from a Texas official to combat the new coronavirus continuing to spread across the state.
The "Stay Home Stay Safe" order, effective as of 11:59 p.m. on March 23, will continue through April 3. And it comes hours after Gov. Greg Abbott declined to issue a statewide shelter-in-place, though the state's top elected official noted he would applaud local leaders if they decided to take more sweeping actions for their jurisdictions.
Jenkins' order allows for people to leave their homes for outdoor walks and getting necessary items like groceries.

I hope so. Honestly this probably should have been put in place the day after the shite show at DFW with all the people coming in from international flights. It's damn near a lock that huge mass of people all crammed in close quarters kicked this shite into overdrive here in North Texas.

Former Texas A&M standout David Edwards and former St. John's player Lee Green died Monday following battles with the novel coronavirus, according to reports.
Edwards' death was confirmed to the Dallas Morning News by a Texas A&M spokesperson. His former teammate, Charles Henderson, indicated on Facebook that Edwards had died from COVID-19, writing "This coronavirus has hit me in the heart. We need to find a vaccine."
Green's death from coronavirus was reported to the New York Post via former St. John's teammate Lamont Middleton and confirmed by the program's director of sports medicine.
“It’s just a terrible thing that happened to him,” Brian Mahoney, his coach at St. John's, told the Post.
Edwards started his college career at Georgetown in 1989, but transferred to Texas A&M after one season. He returned to the floor for the Aggies in 1991, averaging 13.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists over three seasons.
Green played for St. John's from 1991-1994, appearing in 72 games.

Hope everyone here is doing ok, been away a while. Part of that was a month ban and part was being completely inundated at work with COVID stuff. Being an ID doctor is insane these days.
Hope all your families are safe and stay that way
