Funny - some people think missing a handful of wide open receivers means you can't pass. That would be folks that never played and definitely never played QB.

That's actually awesome message board ammunition we can use for this offseason.

Everybody bitches and pisses and moans about overthrown/under thrown WRs running free for TDs. But the truth is EVERY QB misses on these passes at some point. Sometimes the WR can make a play and make it work though. What we've really lacked is a WR who can stretch out and come down with a catch.
I subscribe, albeit a bit tongue in cheek, to Herbie's statement that if the receiver can touch it, he can catch it. Passes like the under thrown ball in the Natty. Was it under thrown? Yes, yes it was. Did the WR (Louis I think) get BOTH OF HIS HANDS ON THE BALL? Yes, yes he did. He still dropped the GD thing.

That dropped pass still pisses me off.

Pre Gus Malzhan 20 was the record right?

Jeremy threw a few of them

He does need to teach him how to put some air under the ball.

Individual yes. Don't know about team record.

This whole thing about Marshall's passing is hilarious. Half the people wanted him benched mid-season because of his passing. Now it's a sin to criticize it. Anyone with eyes can tell he has some things to work on. I don't think it's a big deal to say it.

8th. FWIW, of the seven teams that ranked ahead of Auburn in passing TDs, only one (ole miss) returns their starting QB (though matty mauk was a part time starter at mizzou).
A&M had 40 TDs passes in 13 games...

Seems like 30 of them came against Auburn and Bama

Really good passing QBs don't miss some of the open passes Marshall missed repeatedly this year no matter how you want to spin it.
Also, Marshall only threw 14 of them so you can get off your high horse.
With that said he improved A LOT from the beginning of the season to the end but still has A LOT of work to do. If he can continue his progression at a similar pace to that of the past 3-4 months over the offseason our offense is going to be awfully difficult to slow down next year.
Here's to hoping

We don't pay him to "miss."

What is the purpose of this thread? Do you propose Marshall doesn't need to work on his passing? Let's be honest here, Marshall threw for 14 of those while giving up 6 picks, while completing less than 60% of his passes. Of course all of the blame doesn't rest on his shoulders since the WRs didn't help a lot of the time, but that doesn't change the fact he does need to improve on consistency.
With that said, I expect the passing game to improve with a full off season.
/hijack, continue with the gotcha thread.

59.4%
Way to not only be a bitch, but to be a nit-picky little bitch.
And, yes, you're right Mr. Nega... I don't think Marshall has room to work on anything at all. PERFECT AS IS!
