Most of the South has pretty strict "can't be masked at a protest" laws as a result of the KKK.

I have been slowly training my wife the joy of just throwing something away. She grew up as a military brat so I think all the moves and only being able to have so much stuff as a child has warped how she perceives things. Now if she's on the fence about keeping a box she'll say to herself "I don't need this box" and throw it away so very slowly winning that war thank God.

Oh that's a classic. She'll get all "we have made a mess of this coffee table" and I'll remove my 1 item from the table and her stuff will just stay there lol.
I have a friend who worked in a hospital system in Detroit. He'll straight up tell you that there's not less people getting shot, they're just much much better at saving them now than they were 10 or 20 years ago.
The older I've gotten the easier it is for me to just find something else to do.

Here to take any notes as well. My wife is a flat surface queen, I can clear all the kitchen counters after dinner and those frickers will be cluttered right back up before morning.

We left all the translators and helpers there, hung out to dry. Same as we left the Pakistani Dr who worked to help identify Bin Laden hanging out to dry.
Yearly tax revenue has increased 2.18x, from 2.03T in 2000 to 4.44T in 2023.

Meanwhile, yearly spending has gone up 3.4x, from 1.79T in 2000 to 6.19T in 2023.

We're not going to be able to tax our way out of this.
I don't think our antitrust laws have had any teeth in several decades. Far too much money in politics coming directly from the companies who would or should be regulated by AT regs.
Why do you think drug prices in the rest of the developed world are so low? Because they're capped through a variety of legislation. So the response has been to just make the money back in the US. Maybe now there will be some actual pressure to fix the whole situation.

Now if we could just end RX advertising...

re: Inflation lower than expected

Inflation was 2.9% in 2024 and currently on course to be 2.4% for 2025. 50 bps drop in inflation after 100 bps cut in rates because, and say this with me, inflation is a product of money supply.
Jerome's excuse for not cutting was? Tariffs are inflationary, no? And if tariffs don't happen, meaning they're not inflationary, then what's the new excuse? No recession? But the potential for cuts this year was never recession related, it was all about "when inflation is under control". But tariffs were inflationary. Until they don't actually materialize. So they're not inflationary. But the new goal post is apparently we only cut in the event of a recession. Which we're not having now because the tariffs are gone. Because we weren't headed for a recession (lol) until the threat of tariffs lopsided GDP. But the tariffs are suddenly poof.

Like, do you not see how the politician (JPow) is able to perpetually delay doing anything by just constantly moving the goal posts?
A house in my parents neighborhood recently sold for almost 100k over asking. Was shocked, I thought the days of those kind of bidding wars was over but apparently not for the right house.

again if this was a democrat doing this, this board would look very different with its reactions

This one of the dumbest takes on this board. If a Democrat was standing up to China and trying to fix our economy, we'd be rooting for them like hell.

You know how I know that? Because Trump was a long time registered Democrat and party donor. Think about that, the R party was so messed up that its voter base flocked to support a long time D and the D party is so messed up the long time D (Trump) isn't representing them.

Yeah this is actually great, would make it super obvious how much junk is coming from China lol.
Yes she did damage to Epstein and Co. And now she's most likely dead for it, which I'm sure makes anyone else willing to come forward and accuse another royal or billionaire super excited and willing to do so.

You are so smart you're downright stupid.
