DWag215, class of 2010. I grew up in both Austin and CS, where I graduated from high school. I'm a 2nd generation Aggie but my extended family is littered with fellow Ags.

First game was Nebraska '98 at the age of 11. I never stood a chance. I'm far too emotionally invested in this damned football program, and that game is to blame.

I'm a newly licensed lawyer in Houston, and my professional regret becomes more apparent each time I post on message boards at 3 am on a weekday.

I know or at least recognize most on this thread.

Solid group we have here.

OK we need you to bring suit against Saban, Miles, and Malzahn for "tortious interference with a national championship" (ours).

If you have any spare time, then sue Baylor for impersonating an institution of higher learning.

Eh... I'm not sure what the youngsters have against Baylor. I'd say it was over their competitiveness in football but they were even less competitive in the youngsters' days than in mine. So... Ken Starr? I don't like the guy, either, but that doesn't account for the hate. And especially not for knocking their academics. I'm biased being the black sheep from a Baylor family, but... Baylor won't ever turn out any outstanding engineers or scientists, but they produce plenty of good doctors and lawyers. (Before the lawyer jokes - my sister was a Baylor lawyer and worked at the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. If you're aware of that hospital and still think Baylor should be sued for... then you're unquestionably an idiot.)

I guess I just don't get it. The Tarp of Shame is fun to make fun of, but Baylor academics? Eh? Not so much for me.

personally its because my sister just finished her 4 years there. the crap she would come home and tell us what her guy friends told her about a&m was just so insane. then i would see her guy friends whenever i went up to waco. biggest fricktards every who would talk shite directly to my face when i was helping them move shite into their car, and it wasnt friendly shite talking. so yea baylor can get absolutely fricked. i wish nothing but the worst on them

Lived in Waco for two years in high school. They talk CONTINUOUS shite. And especially given that:

quote:

they were even less competitive in the youngsters' days than in mine

they just became a burr under my personal saddle

I attended every A&M/baylor game from '04-'10, and that included two baylor wins. They ran their mouths like it was the dang BCS MNC after both

Umm... so stop helping?

That seems different from what I knew, but fine. It doesn't explain anything to me about the slam against Baylor academics.

Did they break a beer bottle over your head? Did they break your arm? Did they threaten to kill you and mean it? Did a Baylor grandma stand up on a table in McDonald's and scream "frick you, Aggies! Get the frick out of here!"? Everywhere (and I do mean everywhere) you went in Waco were you constantly barraged with "Aggies Suck!"? Because I never saw anything even remotely like that in Waco, Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, or Houston. But that was standard stuff in Lubbock in my days back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

But regardless of your answer none of that explains running down Baylor academics. Hell, I'll run down Tech academics all day! I'll make crap up if I need to! But picking on BU academics makes no sense at all to me and honestly makes us all look a bit more stupid. Different school turning out different professions. That doesn't mean it isn't a good school.

i wasnt running down their academics. i was just talking about why i dislike that place. i have been up there many times and have had many interactions with baylor students and every single interaction has been incredibly negative

That part I get. Give them holy hell about the Tarp of Shame and their pathetic football record and for good measure tell them Grant Teaff sucks. But... and this is a big but:

quote:

sue Baylor for impersonating an institution of higher learning.

This is bullshite. bullshite on a large scale. Say Harvard talked shite and ran their mouths. Would that suddenly make Harvard an impersonator of an institution of higher learning? Baylor is a fine school that happens to turn out graduates that don't do what Aggies generally do.

And I personally am disappointed I don't see you young'uns griping about Tech. That leads me to believe you never went to Lubbock. Because that entire city full of assholes is not capable of changing and you... would have noticed. Not that this has anything to do with academics.

Hmm... it must have been the senior boots, then. Because I have nothing but praise for Baylor students when on a date with a Baylor woman . Different times, I reckon.

Bsylor is a good school but things have changed there over the last 10 years or so and open hatred of all things Aggie has really become a big deal there. I won't run down their academics but I will reply in kind to their smack talking which is getting to be on par with tu. It's a totally different world than it was 28 years ago when I was in school.

"than it was 28 years ago when I was in school."

My brother :-)

I get all that and I suspect your change from 10 years ago has a lot to do with separating themselves from the SBC - meaning any a-hole can now get in and stay in with good grades. They're t.u. lite, in other words. My gripe was with knocking their academics, same as it would be with anybody knocking t.u. academics. Both are very good schools and it just makes Aggies look like idiots to claim otherwise. Football? Entirely different subject.

Their academics are still good but there are some areas they have regressed in. At least that is what a few people I know that are working on their doctors and one professor I know tell me. They believe it's growing pains. The university os trying to ggrow the student population and yes they are letting people in who in the years past wouldn't warrant a look.

ok so i saw this on rivalries and this needs to be posted here due to current talk about baylor

quote:

Yes it happened just as you listed, the hot water in the visitors locker room apparently was not working well and we did not fix it to their liking. Afterwards the Baylor players ripped doors off the hinges, punched holes in the wall, smashed some lockers and urinated and $#@! in many of the lockers. Our AD is expected to send a bill for damages and the Big 12 office has been made aware of the situation.
