The farthest Ive been is Houston. Loads of Aggies there.

So basically you've only been to SE TX which is Aggie territory and you come to the conclusion that everyone in TX is an Aggie fan..

I think you guys are mistaking horrible coaching for inevitable decline. Once Texas gets a real coach and starts winning 11 games a year in the Big 12 everything will feel a lot different.

I would assume like Alabama and Auburn Texas is likely the favorite just because they are the state school. TEXAS A and M is great program but I would think Texas will likely always be the favorite there. TEXAS is bad now but as soon as Brown is gone and they hire a competent coach Texas will be back to competing for NC every year.

Since most of the Hispanic population aligns itself with tu in this state, they will always have more fans, but a&M is on the rise while tu is in free fall right now. Oh, and they are both state schools.

Surprised with the level of truth up in here.

The best thing for A&M is for Mack to stay for a long while. He's lost his Midas touch and the longer he stays the deeper the hole gets for ut.

UT will always be perceived as being the premier program in Texas both instate and nationally. I have cousins who are Aggie alums and they will readily admit that as well.

I'm a Texas hater but Texas is Texas. A&M is A&M.

And besides, Texas really is a national brand. Look at their athletic department's financials. It's almost unfair the revenue they take in.

It's POSSIBLE the tables will turn... Look to SC and Clemson. It will take longer in TX though.

Our move has hurt Oklahoma the most; I think ut's wounds are largely self inflicted right now.

The Aggies are to defending Texas as the Marginol Line was to defending France. Nice thought...poor outcome.

sheeeeeeet.. Dallas has most def changed a lot.. I go in stores that historically had walls of burnt orange, and that shite is on clearance with tons of aggie gear.

I see more A&M logos on the highways than I have ever in my 30+ years. If you dont' think things have changed, the you are flat out blind.

furthermore, we were the original state school.. Older than texas.. boom.. flagship!

Put it this way...in the recent expansion, if he knew they would accept an invitation, who do you think Mike Slive would want/offer? Texas or Texas A&M?

In old and recent expansion, slive has offered a&m more than once. He knew the longhorns don't really fit. Sure he'd take the money, but A&M had all the texas without all the california if you get my drift.

We almost left when Arkansas did just so you know.

SMU had their time in the sun back in the 80s.

TCU back in the 30s.

Houston back in the late 80s early 90s.

Texas has down periods like all programs allowing the lesser instate schools their time in the lime light, that time is now aTm's for the moment, but make not mistake the state of Texas is still belongs to the Longhorns not one of the many secondary schools.
