every player is his recruit and is at the level they are at because of the development since they have been on campus. So just like MS took a lot of blame for the lack of player development at Bama in year 4, AG should take some of the blame of this years team. A lot of fans screamed that MS deserved another year and no one is now fussing because he was fired and NS was brought in.

With that said, lets see how next year turns out. We should be a preseason top 25 team and hopefully a top 3 preseason in the SEC.

Maybe, maybe not. But we should at least finish near the top 25.

Doubt it. SEC is getting massively better next year. UT and Arkansas will probably be ahead of us. Maybe LSU. My guess is we will be 5th preseason.

the SEC will have a better SOS next year as the talent level will be better all around.

I haven't seen anything from this team that would make me think we should be preseason top 25.

Is that supposed to be some defense for Grant? This is his 4th year. This is the team he put together.

CAG has recruited pretty good for an Alabama basketball team...these guys are underperforming except releford...levi randolph was a 4* trevor lacy 4*, mussa gauye 4*, nick jacobs 4*, rodney cooper 4*, devonta pollard 5*...CAG can’t make them hit wide open jumpers, he can’t make jacobs rebound...CAG knew bama needed a big man he went and found a 7ft engstrom who was actually playing good ball before his injury he was starting over gueye...who would think a 5* pollard would not look like he can play on the college level and because of injuries cooper has to play big man at 6-4 185lbs...CAG have these kids playing hard and competing every game, every game bama was a few shots from winning, bama is one big man away from being at least a sweat 16 team...next year we will have 2 7ft centers that will rotate, hopefully a much improved 5* pollard and jacobs...with a 6-8 inside/outside shanon hale a 6-10 shot blocker/rebounder jimmy taylor a senior pg trevor releford and a more mature/experience lacy, randolph, cooper and a promising pg gym CAG found from Belgium retin...I like were we are going

When most of your players are under-performing, what does that tell you?

So now that you've made another excuse, are you saying Grant is a bad talent evaluator or bad developer? Your choice

Grant is in the top 20 paid coaches in the country.

Also he is the third highest paid coach in the SEC.

So it is damn embarrassing to see the shite we are getting in return. The argument that we cant get anyone better is just dumb.

It is better to try to get someone who can right the ship rather than throw money away and complain we don't care about basketball is why we cant win.

To reiterate guys don't make top 20 money to be yearly NIT teams.

Just like when we fired CMG, mediocrity is not an option. And CMG has had a lot more success than CAG

NC State probably has more talent than any other ACC team, but they've also got CMG to off set it! I'm down on Grant right now, but if he had NC State's talent, we'd have probably been cutting down the nets in Nashville yesterday!

Seriously?... do you think roy williams is a bad coach? heck UNC has had a top ten class every year his heels are not even ranked, is coach cal a bad coach? a lot of success in bball is about how those 4/5* players respond and play together and AG talent is no where near the talent of coach cal team right now.

Thats not a excuse...is coach cal a talent evaluator or bad developer? last I checked we were in the same tournament thats proof its not all about coaching you have to have the right talent also...and with the talent coach grant has had he has done a good job...if caoch grant could have gotten d. cousins, eric bledsoe if those kids would have stayed in-state there would be no “fire anthony grant thread”...a coach is only as good as his players...coach grant is winning 20-21 games with a bunch of d2 players...nobody on bama team could start for kentucky right now except maybe releford and uk sucks.

In an earlier post, you said Grant was doing a good job recruiting. Now in this post, you state he has D2 caliber players. Please get your excuses in order before proceeding any further. TIA

Grant may be #3 in pay in the SEC but he is within $200k- $500k of Kennedy, Barbee, and Stallings and is $2 mil back from #2.

Anthony Grant needs to get fired up. His personality is lethargic and it rubs off on his players.

Here is the reality:

Anthony Grant will, and probably should, get another year. Assuming nobody leaves early, they'll probably be a little better which will give him yet another year.

But in the end, I don't think he has what it takes.

He'll be here at least 2, probably 3, more seasons unless the he goes all Auburn on us and only wins 9 games each of the next two seasons.

Did anyone actually see him play a full season when he was healthy? I know he's had at least 2 major knee injuries and went over a year without playing in a competitive game.

You obviously missed when I said this team is underperforming...he has recruited good players from the “recruiting services" point of view with 4*/5* players but they are not performing like 4*/5* recruits...you think pollard is playing like a true 5* recruit? every team in the country wanted this kid but he’s just not ready he was a high school big man with no outside game in college he’s to small to be a big man and he still doesn’t have a outside shot...you can see his potential but its just not there yet
