UAB outside of the Med school is a third-tier university.

UAB has one of the top bio-medical engineering programs in the country.

UAB and the Medical School are crown jewels for the city of Birmingham. They bring much needed positive publicity (and $$$) to the city.
Well Lord knows we could use an infusion of both in Monkeytown.

Most UAB grads that I know are Bama fans. Doesn't make any sense at all. It's a touchy subject too that usually leads to a conversation about how both universities are in the same system so it's OK to be a fan of the other, etc, etc, etc....

I've spent some time at UAB and it really doesn't feel like a university campus. Felt similar to Troy University, Montgomery.

I'd wager at least half were Troy fans, not UAB fans.

Wrong. I was at that game and there were more UAB fans.

Ever think we have to have promotions bc the UA BoT forces us play in the ghetto, at Legion Field? The area around LF is a dump now and it's amazing anyone goes to games.

UAB should step down about the med school. It's a combined program and being a d*ck won't make it better.

UAB has been lead by some fools towards D1 footbaw, which is an unmitigated disaster.

Think of what UAB could do with a million extra a year for basketball.

UAB as an institution is schizophrenic, world class programs with third tier next door. Poor leadership.

They have to have promotions because their students and alumni, like you, are too busy being Alabama and Auburn fans instead of supporting UAB.

If my team was playing at legion field tomorrow, I'd be there.

The same can be said for every smaller school in the southeast. UAB's problems go deeper than that.

Oh bullshite.
Do you disagree that LF is a dump, in the middle of the ghetto?

Also, I'm a season ticket holder to UAB football games and I attend more UAB games a year than I do auburn. Stfu about shite you don't know.

UAB hasn't earned its support in footbaw.

Being a program doesn't entitle you to a $75,000,000 stadium.

The footbaw stadium: "Me First!" Tantrun is just embarrassing.

Kind of a weird favorite thing.

I mean i'd put PBR ahead of that.

And i'm not even a hipster that woudl drink it 'ironically'

UAB should play in Hoover. If they can get some fans there, pack it out, and stop hemorrhaging money, maybe the board would feel better about issuing bonds to help build an on campus stadium. It's small but nice and in a good area. And it will most likely always be full.

That is the logical approach, which is of course why it won't happen.

Not all people think the way you do. West End is a bigger dumpster fire than Arky and Auburn's season combined. I don't blame people for not venturing into high crime areas.

1. You sound like an idiot typing "footbaw". It's football.
2. UAB's program is only 21 years old. This isn't a program that's been around since the 1800's like UA or AU.
3. UAB had already raised money and presold suites for the stadium.
4. UA pulled out of its contract with LF bc it's a decaying, piece of shite stadium.
5. UAB only wants to be treated fairly.

UAB should have stayed in a lower classification and developed rivalries with Samford and like schools. It's a commute school and will never have the campus feel or the type of support a major University like Bama or Au will have. A 30K stadium and smaller classification would have done wonders for UAB and probably would have succeeded a great deal more than they have.

That's the type of thinking that is causing problems. It isn't a commuter school and has some outstanding bio med research. There is a lot of resentment at the school because UAT gets more funding due to its football program and general state wide support when UAB does a tremendous amount of research.

No they didn't. It was a projection.
