They were 1-1 against one of the members. I seem to remember one loss being much more significant than the other.

Still got taken away though.
That doesn't mean it was the right move.
There are permanent, cross-division games in the SEC, Big Ten, and Pac 12 now.

Did people complain this much about only one rotational opponent before we switched the format in the early 2000s?

Don't be ridiculous. It's not a big four. It's a big 1.

Dude, you do know that nebraska and oklahoma were huge rivals, played each other EVERY year, and stopped the series when the Big 12 was formed in the mid 90s.
Right? You do know that, right?

I believe the vote was 11-3 in favor of the 6-1-1. Democracy has spoken
Those East teams love the fact that they don't have to face all the world beaters in the West every year. I'd vote like a pussy too if I was USC and UGA.

They were both pretty significant, but one had a trophy presentation after it. That said, I have blocked out January 2012 anyway, so IMO January 2012 never happened.

Why not move Tennessee to the west and Auburn to the east. I would rather play Tennessee every year and don't care if we ever play Auburn again. Plus Auburn could continue their rivalry with Georgia and Florida.
Because regardless of what people here say, neither Alabama or Auburn would be wiling to give up the Iron Bowl, and the SEC wouldn't want that, either.

The reality is TN sucks, why would they want to lose a game to Bama every year!?!?! I am not scared of playing UF, the question is why would they want to play us every year?
Who cares about UGA and Auburn
Who cares about UGA and Auburn

Yeah, Tennessee hates competition.

That's right.
That game was in 2012. LSU defeated all the Big 4 in 2011.
2012 doesn't count.

So everyone voted in their own self-interest and LSU lost. Why are we still talking about this?

Big 4? is that even a often used term? I think the only term is big 6.

of course not. could you imagine the panty wadding and belly aching over giving up that game?
I mean, Bama is having a fit over Tennessee.
Tennessee for god's sake.

Right now yall should be worried about competing in your own division much less taking on Bama, LSU, AU, and Arky.

Because the resulting schedule for the SEC's future sucks balls. Keep up.
