The format is a joke. Only seeing programs play in Tiger Stadium every 12 years while they are in the same conference is ridiculous. Hopefully it'll change, but until then..................... Gene Chizik is still your head coach

I actually said what I said to be an Orville Douchenbagger. I would love to preserve traditional rivalries in the conference, but the fact is that it does screw things up for the remaining schools. I'm not a fan of the system, but at least I'm lucky enough to still have the games that I value. Although I would like to play UGA more often.

It does suck that we went from playing Auburn every year and had a great rivalry with them, and now we will hardly ever see each other. An important historical SEC rivalry that has been sacrificed by the SEC for many years now.

But the scheduling should be made to reflect whats best for the entire conference, not just 4 teams.

We are talking about some of the most egocentric fans in all of college football.

Trying to convince the Bama fans of anything for the betterment of the conference is beyond impossible.

used to we played 5 in division, 3 out. 5-2-1 (1 permanent, 2 rotating)

Now we play 6 in division by virtue of expansion, leaving 2 cross divisionals. They maintained the permanent opponent and you now play 1 other opponent which rotates every year.

Instead of a team rotating on your schedule for 2 years (home and home), the random slot changes yearly, but go a longer time between specific stadium visits.

6 division games (SEC west)
1 Permanent Opponent UF for LSU
1 rotation game, not a home and away in 2 year sets but home and away series to be completed over 12 years

How weird for Auburn that their younger fans will be much more familiar with playing Texas A&M than Florida.

I agree. I like the Alabama - UT game a lot but I would give it up to see Florida, UGA, SC, Missouri, etc. more often. I get more pumped for Bama-UF then Bama-UT now anyway.

Lol, maybe so, but these things tend to run in cycles. Life would be a bit tougher in other sports(basketball and baseball), but thats not what this is about

I know with SEC dominance and conference realignment we've gotten all "ra-ra-ra" about our SEC identities... but you can keep your lockstep Commy mentality to yourself because a schools rivalries are more intimately important to more fans than the conference logo spraypainted on the 25 yard line.

I knew what you were doing and its all in fun.

Just for the record I love playing Florida every year. But I alao want to be able to play all of the teams in the SEC. Sure you will get some snoozers but you will also get some really great games you typically wouldve never had. Just gotta take te good with the bad.

The simple solution was to move the Alabama schools East(if tradition is really what is wanted), seeing as they screwed the whole thing up to begin with. Move Missouri back were it is (West of the Mississippi River) and move Vandy as well since they really dont have a rival

Or move Auburn east and Tennessee west, that way balance is not greatly affected. Tennessee doesn't have a long history with either UF or UGA until the divisional format.

To 4 schools. Welcome to society, guys. Here we compromise if we want to be a part of that society (read: conference).

Imagine that... an LSU fan whining about something.

See? Aren't broad generalizations fun?

FTR, I hate the format. At this point it wouldn't break my heart if they scrapped divisions altogether, rotated the schedule properly, and allowed the two best teams with the best dull conference standings play in the SECCG.

That kind of sucks we can't see other teams more frequently.
