Did you guys see this? Miles' press conf.

Its very lengthy, but try to skim through it. Les Miles is one fine man and very committed to those that surround him. What a great recruiting tool. The sincerity is unbelievable.

It cut off for me at the point when he was discussing booing ... anyone else have that problem? I'd like to hear the rest.

glad he is staying as well but I think he will regret it later in life. I am pretty sure Michigan low balled him and didnt match the offer they gave to Harbough in which case I dont blame him for not going. If they matched LSu offer he should have taken it just because I know he would have liked to rebuild Michigan, but he fits in better in the south personality wise much better than the snooty north. Michigan needs a perspective change they arent what they used to be and they are going to have to come after someone hard and let the coach know they need him not the other way around. I think that was the realization Bama officials finally made when they hired Saban but it cost them.

I loved the part where he talks about the Booing...and then says what our fans have that other non-booing fans don't. As simple as it is....its true. Check it out.

I am glad he is staying. I am proud that he is the coach at LSU.

He has heart, dignity, and sees that his job is more than just winning football games (not to underestimate the need to win), but knowing that simply winning isn't the whole story.

I appreciated the respect and honor he gave to his alma mater, and I certainly don't blame him for listening to Michigan and giving it consideration. Sometimes you don't fully appreciate what you have until you actually look at other opportunities that come along. Sometimes you need to look afresh at a position and other opportunities to reenergize your passion and committment to the position that you already hold. I think that is exactly what Les did. In looking at Michigan, he realized he is home where he is now, at LSU.

I think he used his alma mater to get an extension and nothing more. He was never serious about going back there and strung them along to get more from LSU. Michigan should never deal with him again imo.

you know what? michigan is his alma matar and he loves michigan. it has been a dream of his to be the michigan head coach and he owed to them, but most importantly to himself to speak to them and to seriously consider taking the job. if you don't understand that you are either a student yet to work for a living or too young to understand. by you insuating that he is disingenuous in his feelings for LSU reveals your ignorance of the situation and of les miles as a professional and a person. i could have said worse about you being a longhorn fan believe me.

You certainly are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think it was that simple for him. I think he felt that since Michigan was a place that he long had looked at as his "dream job" he should look at it. I don't blame him a a bit. I think he certainly was inclined to stay at LSU throughout, but it wasn't open and shut. As he said, it wasn't really about the money (he certainly is getting plenty of that), but about stability. If he never coached a game again, he would be a wealthy man. But I do think he wanted to know that he wasn't going to be looking over his shoulder at every bump in the road. LSU was willing to give him that. In my view he has earned it. I don't get the impression from watching him or Aleva that Miles has tried to play a lot of games with LSU. It isn't his style or character.

I think it was just posturing more than serious consideration. He ended up getting what he wanted out of LSU. Michigan went to him 2 different times asking him to come back and help the program and he rejected them. I could understand turning down your dream job once but not twice if you truly felt that way.
