Not just saying this because I am partial, but I actually like LSU at #1. Most polls I've read have us at about #4 (prolly more realistic rating really), but we have a lot of players returning, more awesome ones coming in, (hopefully) fixing the biggest problem that has been holding us back..our QB, new OC, etc. We are going to be a force to be reckoned with next year. We have our eyes set on a BCS bowl game this next season, and I believe we will get there.

Lol....after 50 something years of no Championships...I'd say I'm sure it feels good to be number 1. Remember how it feels, because I doubt it'll happen again.

Just think....had Cam gone to MSU they'd be sitting with crystal ball right now....what a scary thought :0

While I have no problems with the Michigans and the Penn States of the world, I will say that those guys really do live in the past. You have to respect their teams and coaches...they were real power houses back in the day. But this is today, and things are different. Last year when Penn St. and LSU played in the Capital 1 Bowl, their fans were the MOST obnoxious group of people I'd ever seen. i witnessed several being escorted out of the stands by Police. (And trust me, being from LSU I know what obnoxious is..and this was worse) They were spitting on LSU fans, calling us names, throwing stuff at us, etc. After the game, my family and I were at Disney World and the Penn St. fans kept coming up to the LSU fans and telling us how embarrassed we made ourselves look, how we shouldn't be wearing our LSU sweatshirts, and just down right being very rude. This continued like 2 days after the game was over. At first I felt angered by it, and I really wanted to come back at them with a good comeback. But I didn't. Their team isn't what it used to be...they haven't won a championship in who knows how long (the 80's I think?), and the students who go there most likely won't see their school win a championship. I was very blessed to have been a student during the last championship run, and the experience I had being in the Superdome and watching our team beat OSU was something I'll never forget. So, in the end I took the high road and just laughed at the rude Penn St. fans and gave them a good "Geaux Tigers" and moved on. These fans from these "used to be great" schools will cling to their former glory as long as they can.
I loved the part where he talks about the Booing...and then says what our fans have that other non-booing fans don't. As simple as it is....its true. Check it out.
HaHaHa...

We got Arkansas, Florida, and Auburn in Death Valley this year....you should be very afraid.
LSU or Bama

Sorry Arky....you let everyone down this year. Not only did you beat us, and took our spot in the Sugar Bowl...but then you completely crapped on yourself when you got there. You were NOT the same team who beat us in November. It was embarassing.

Not trying to toot LSU's horn or anything...but we've got a new QB, hopefully a new OC, and a cast of talented characters returning for us. I like us to play in a BCS bowl this year....whether that be the NCG, or the Sugar Bowl. (Both in NOLA this year to boot )
Let's be real.

Auburn is the Tigers...yells War Eagle..and then there are some plainsmen thrown in there somewhere. When we won the NCG, you better believe everyone in the Superdome was chanting SEC BEFORE the clock ran out. We were SO proud of not only our school, but our conference. (And the OSU fans quickly made an exit.) That's a shame.
Because we are an elite programs who wants to stay that way. Is it logical to think we will be playing in the NGC every year...no. Can we have it as a goal, absolutely. Also, we have always played this last minute, win decided by the final minute games. Not sure what you are talking about. We rarely "blow out" anyone. I remember several games between 05-07 (esp. 07) that were decided in the final moments of the game, if not over time. As much as I'd love to be "blowing out" teams....it wouldn't be as challenging to us as a time and not nearly as entertaining. Also, let's not make fun of the way he talks. Sure, he says some things that sounds silly. We re in Louisiana...I'm pretty sure I've heard a lot worse from people.

re: LSU fans......what a funny group

HaHa...I do recall www.FireUrbanMeyer.com

I hope our fans realize that they are spoiled. We are used to greatness, so when we have a mediocre season...they want someone to pay for it. Look at TX...competing in the BCS NCG one year...and the next, they lose to A&M and don't even make a bowl. Heck, UTEP was in a bowl this year. It happens!!

Through it all, I have stuck with Miles. I supported him. Others had nothing but horrid things to say, and discounting his title because of winning with Saban's players. Miles won a Championship outright. No co-champs. Regardless of whose players they were, they were coached by Miles and staff. I hope that his potential career move made them realize what we'd be losing. We are never all going to agree on what our players or coaches do 100% of the time. But, let's let them do what they do best...play the game. It seems to have worked so far..and I am confident that we will be contending for a title again very soon. Hey, the game's in NO this year...that could be a sign. :)

Let's put it this way...If Cam had shown up MS State, Bulldog Nation would very happy with their Natl Championship right now. That's how good he is.

re: So is Gary Crowton gone or not?

Our Offense is our problem. It sucks. I hear he will be gone...I hope its true.
I hope they're going to let Mettenberger compete for the spot. He committed to us for a reason, and I'm sure that reason had something to do with the opportunity to play QB. If he's the better QB, I hope he will get some playing time. Honestly, I am tired of seeing JJ and Lee out there. Sure, JJ played well in the Cotton Bowl. But, he just isn't a consistent player in that position. If LSU wants to be able to compete for a BCS bowl this next year (NCG or Sugar), we HAVE to get our offensive act together. We've been plagued by lack of Offensive threat for three seasons now.
YAY Coach Miles....he's an LSU Man now. :)
No...But ill be sad to see him go. Best of luck at Michigan.
