Sucks for him. I remember cheering for him a few years ago when Pitt was playing West Virginia and he was limping around on crutches. Pitt, more than a 20 point underdog, beat WVU and the officials. LSU went to the national title game, Les stayed here, and Rodriguez went to Michigan.

Pitt always gets good players.

They can be really good in the future.

I think he could recruit anywhere even in the Northeast as time passes...but I just see him as a HC here in the South...I could be wrong though...

He fits best in the SEC or Big 12, IFYAM.

It wouldn't be a bad option if offered.
He could probably win right away and would
Be a good place to start out.

I don't see how a coach that's lived/coached in the southeast/southwest all his life would be a good fit in the northeast. Has Auburn gone after top recruits in states like Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania the past couple years? Because that's what Malzahn will have to do. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to hire someone that no recruiting connections with the coaches and schools in the local areas.

he's staying down south cuz. All his connections are in the south. I would be pretty surprised if he took that job. Stranger things have happened though.

Pitt is a sleeping program imo. I wouldnt call them a giant but they certaintly have the potential to make the BCS alot more then they do. Malzahan would kill some of the big east d's.

Yes, I don't want him anywhere near Baton Rouge.

It's not very hard to build recruiting "contacts". Not like high school coaches aren't going to talk to you because you are not a native yankee.

Sal Sunseri may be on the short list. If he goes, Vinnie Sunseri goes. If Vinnie goes, it'll be harder to keep DePriest.

Plus, Sunseri is an awesome coach.

Damnit.
