Do you think Nick Saban is...

Do you think Nick Saban is a better coach now than he was at LSU?
Did the NFL teach him to be a little more humble and not brow beat and berate his players to the point where they wore down emotionally during a season?
I mean all year Bama fans have heard from LSU fans how Saban has never had to back to back 10 win seasons? Well so much for that argument.
How he was due to get beat by an inferior team at least once every season? THis hasn't happened. I was just wondering if it's because he might be a better coach now?
Oh and you can say what you want about that huge loss to Utah last year in the Sugar bowl, but is it really a letdown to get beat by an undefeated team in a bowl game?

Of course he's a better coach. He's years wiser. That generally happens, unless you're Miles

It could be, or it could be that he is at the premier University in the SEC.

Those are my thoughts, but is Spurrier a better coach now than he was at Florida. he has never been the same after his foray into the NFL. Saban came back stronger. Just wondering if anyone else thinks that way.

Maybe not better, but not worse. Everyone likes to say the game has passed him but I think its more accurate to say the game has just caught up with him. People have learned how to defend offenses Spurrier made so famous, and even if SC is improved under Spurrier.. the majority of the SEC has also gotten better.

Saban built a mediocre LSU team into a strong program, so I think about the same. Bama always had talent

Typical. LSU potential=BAMA potential right now. I don't give a frick about the 60s and 70s. Has nothing to do with now.

He won an SEC championship in year TWO at LSU.
I'd say he's BEHIND SCHEDULE at Bama...

Well, He may be better..
He is doing better than he did at LSU...if he wins the SEC this year...He never recruited this good and he never went 10-0, not even once at LSU
I think he is benefiting from LSU and AU struggling with new QB's, new coaches in the SEC, schedules, DC, OC's at the moment..and having gifted playes in key positions
but he is probably the best in the business.. I guess the Bama big wheels recognized that and got their man.
you have no idea how much it sucks for LSU fans to see it all unfold..
We had to deal ever year him possibly leaving...and then he did leave on Christmas Eve, then returned to our biggest Rival, in the West.... Talk about a nightmare for us...as if the Bear wasn't bad enough for so many years.. and we have to play Florida every year and Bama doesn't
you guys are very fortunate program...at the moment

You can argue for that spot win you actually win something. Even then you have catching up to do.

Sorry but Bama is not the premier program in the SEC anymore it hasn't been since the 70s and likely won't ever be again. That title goes to UF and I don't ever see them giving that title up either.
He is better now but you also have to consider he left LSU shortly after getting the program on the right track so his success there could have been much better. He came into Bama where a program has a massive recruiting network that is just now dying off and he is rebuilding it but it was nowhere near as bad as LSU was at that time.

It's funny isn't it, Tom.
These guys wear the crown FIRST, and play the games second.
it's an interesting strategy.

He's fricking useless. And he lives in Metairie. What a fricking shame that is.

I enjoyed that heart to heart to headset he had with Julio after the 12 mean in the huddle incident. Very humble and reserved display.

There was a time from about 2002 to 2005 that UF wasn't near the top.
They lost to MSU after the Bullies had gotten beat by Maine. They got lost to Alabama by 28 points, by a Mike Shula coached team.
I think it's gonna continue to be cyclical.
With that being said, Alabama is the premier program because of what it has done in the past and is doing right now.
