Alleva has more than earned every disparaging comment that comes his way

No, he's a loser. Can't execute, can't close. He is a loser.

Official laugh at LSU: The Binder

What is significant about this? It's the detailed plans that "blew away" the guy in my signature on Friday.
Whose name is that? It's the guy I used to listen to on AM sports talk radio. The equivalent of Fineabum becoming the chief architect of the Alabama football program.

So my favorite football program is being run by a radio host...

I'd fricking hope so. Hope we don't get to that point.

Why would he not wait on a HC gig, potentially

And that is what we call, intellectual dishonesty. It's the most relevant thing with regards to him being the full time head coach of LSU.

It should have been, but just because it wasn't doesn't mean you settle for O at 7 AM on Saturday. Take your time and weather the storm. Frankly, I would have just given Jimbo what he wanted.

Cop out. In response, a simple statement: "As the season is just now concluding, the next phase of our search is to meet in person with interested candidates whose season's just finished. This will allow us to better assess the man that will lead LSU into the future and help us reach our goals of competing for and winning championships."

Everything with Alleva ends up being a clusterfrick. He's not an executor; a closer.
Murphy, Miles 2015, Nutrition center, Florida situation, Coaching search.
He has tarnished LSU's brand in the last 12 months alone more than anyone could do if they tried.
He has to go.

Random, I've sort of been able to piece together from reports and events of the last 12 months that the people that control the political levers of power at LSU simply did not have the political will to enter into serious negotiations with elite candidates.
I think they wanted to give the appearance that they were investing to be elite, but in actuality they were hoping to luck out and get one of the top 2 on a bargain. A real search wasn't conducted, and the expectations for Orgeron kept lowering. I think they took the easy way out.
The budget crisis still looms large over the athletic program, and I don't know if we'll be able to invest in being elite until that is fixed. Orgeron was a godsend to these guys. He gave them something they could sell to the fans and be a stopgap to this tumultuous time.
If they were serious about going after Fisher, or other qualified coaches, they would've waited it out and met face-to-face to make their pitch.

LSU has the money to pay 5-6 million,
Given the salaries of Saban, Harbaugh, Meyer, etc. they probably have the money to do even more than 5-6.
