Sark was 2 plays away from playing for b2b titles in 2023 and 2024 and Texas is the title favorite again this year. Lane luckboxed with an injury to his starter paving the way for a generational D2 QB he couldn't even properly scout and will be lucky to win 8 games this season

How would Lane considered near the top 2 yet? In potiential, I get it because he has high potiential no doubt, but based on results..it is easily Kirby and Sark without any question.

In 2023 sure, but you lost in 2024 by two TDs to Ohio State.

One of those 2 was managing to score on 1st and goal from inside the opponent 1 yard line, I guess 3 would have been more accurate as it would have taken a 2 point conversion

Sark slightly a notch above. Both are very good coaches.

Truthfully, I think both are now better.

Smart has lost his fastball. Still a great coach, but I think he's lost it after being thoroughly beat down and humbled by Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame.

Lane has never won anything. Why is he even in the conversation? DeBoer and Elko have accomplished more. Hell, Clark Lea has done way more with way less. Lane had a chance to accomplish something last season but he bailed.

Game was on the 1 yard line when they turned a fumble 95 yards.

We don’t know if we score is osu scores or beats Texas in OT but it’s fair to say the game was way closer than the final score.

Without any question?

Lane’s record at Ole Miss 55-19

Sark’s record at Texas 48-20

That’s kinda wild/surprising if you think about it. I had to look it up to verify that it was correct, and it is.

Sark might not even be the best coach in Texas.

DeBoer has played for a National Championship and won several playoff games. Elko has made a playoff. Lea has arguably done more with less than anyone in the SEC. Maybe the country. Hell even Heupel has made a playoff. Lane hasn't done anything beyond a normal bowl game where he is 4-3. His best team was 2011 USC that finished 10-2 but was ineligible for a bowl game or a conference championship due to recruiting violations. Shocker.

Like I said when he wins something relevant then he can be in the conversation. Obviously he has a great chance to do that at LSU since you guys seemingly are willing to pay just about any amount of money to buy talent. If he can't win under those circumstances then it's a him problem and you guys will have gotten fleeced. Or more accurately the tax payers of Louisiana (and possibly a children's hospital or two) will have gotten fleeced.
