With Todd Golden, do they move to blueblood territory? They have great potential

blueblood has to be the most misused and misunderstood phrase in sports.

No they are not a blueblood, nor close. They could win the next 3 titles all in a row and would still not be a "blue blood" of the sport.

In my opinion blue blood is something that cant be reached anymore. The teams that have it got it decades ago. However with another title florida becomes a unanimous top 10 program all time

UNC, Duke, UK, UCLA, and Kansas will never be reached. Its not a matter of titles, its the fact that they have been the face of the sport for 70 years

Florida and Villanova still both behind Connecticut for the next-in-line to join Kentucky Duke UNC Kansas and UCLA -

Indiana has been left behind as a blue blood hoops program by the 5 others - they're now behind Connecticut - but a small case can be made to still be ahead of Florida and Villanova -

Florida's first NCAAT appearance of 1987 will always be a tough sell for blue blood moniker - Connecticut was 1951 - Villanova was 1939 -

I love how "Blue Bloods" originates from when the tournament was a whopping 8 teams.

It's MUCH more impressive to win with a field of 68.

The term blueblood is weird, especially in basketball.

Duke has only won national championships with one coach and all their titles are after 1990. Most consider them a blueblood, and I think rightfully so, but I'm not even 40 and all their championships are during my lifetime. Seems way different than UCLA, Kentucky, and UNC.

UCONN has won it all 6 times, all since 1999. Are they a blueblood?

Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Kansas have all won NCs in the modern era.

Pretending these programs only won championships in the 70s or before is silly at best.

UConn is the Miami hurricanes of bball, Dukes been good at bball since the fifties Not titles good but they had several final fours I think mostly they just piggy backed unc into the mythical “blue blood” club.
